Before you read the description below. we recommend that you take a look at all of the photos and the video. Back in the 1960s. 1970s and 1980s it seemed that all the great barn finds had been uncovered and after that very few were discovered. After the turn of this century (2000) it became even more uncommon to find great classic car barn finds. Yet this 1932 Pierce Arrow V12 on the long wheel base with a custom LeBaron body. padded top with Landau Irons was discovered IN 2016.
The story is that the previous owner purchased this car in 1964 and drove it for four years while in college. In 1968 he pulled it into the wooden barn with a wooden floor (pictured in the video) and it sat there never moved and untouched until 2016 when the current owner bought it.
The car was found to sit totally square and level wood in absolutely fabulous condition. The doors closed like a bank vault drawer and instrument panel is in excellent condition. The car has not been modified or modernized.
It was the current owners intention to restore the car as a survivor as it appears cosmetically and get it going mechanically so it could be taken to car shows as a survivor. The wire wheels were blasted and painted. new tires put on the car. The only missing parts on the car was the metal tire covers and side mount tire lock downs at the time of purchase. These side mount covers are unique to the 12-cylinder Pierce Arrows and were purchased at a great sum of money and then restored with the stainless steel trim and they are now in primer.
SERIOUS PARTIES - you can contact the private seller direct at 847-668-2004 cell from 10:00 a. m. to 10:00 p. m. CST
The new current owner found the engine stuck and it would not free up so the engine was removed with the transmission. The engine has been completely disassembled and will now need to be put back together with a complete overhaul. It should be noted that Pierce Arrow made two different size V12s and this is the large size V12 in the most sporty V12 body configuration.
The interior is cloth and well eaten by the moths. The rumble seat is leather and will make excellent patterns. The rear window rolls down. The wheels have been sandblasted. New stainless steel chrome rings have been installed and new tires with new correct black wall tires as per the original. This car was even equipped period correct and probably dealer installed radio that has been rebuilt and is working just fine. The brakes are in operating condition. Odometer reads 63. 53. the exact mileage is unknown.
The following is a description of this car written by a third party who is familiar with the facts and we thought that the presentation excellent and have included it in the text of this ad.
The 1932 Pierce-Arrow LeBaron Coupe V12 was presented at the Salon in New York City. This was a highly customized creation by LeBaron. The description says it is on the long wheelbase chassis and powered with 150 horsepower twelve-cylinder engine.
The custom LeBaron in this listing also has a padded top. Landau irons. side mounts. side mount covers. side mount mirrors and a rumble seat.
The car was purchased by a man in 1964 who drove it for four years while going to college. When he finished college in 1968 he put the car in a wooden barn with a wooden floor and never moved it until 2016.
The provenance of this car is exceptional and starts with the New York City show where this Pierce-Arrow was the Salon Show Car.
The ownership has been tracked back to the owners starting in the 1940s to the current owner. Previous owners have supplied Polaroid photos of the car during their ownership.

V12 Pierce-Arrow
Custom Body by LeBaron
Only Pierce Arrow coupe made in 1932 that had a padded top and Landau irons.
V12 on the long wheel base with a LeBaron body. padded top with Landau Irons. Of all the years Pierce Arrow made the V12. 1932 is the first year of all V12s.
This was Pierce-Arrow's show car for the 1932 New York Auto Show and was the sensation of the show.
It was a barn find with photographic pictures that I doubt any other barn find could top.
The previous owner bought the car in 1964 and drove it for four years while going to college until 1968 when he put it in the barn and it didn't move until the current owner got it in 2016.
Colors are always important and this car is done in Brewster Green (Emerald Green). bright yellow wheels and black wall tires. Most of the show cars of that time period were done with white walls. The car has a period correct radio installed and I have been told that the radio was installed by the Pierce-Arrow dealership.
For those that don't know it. the 1932 V12 Pierce Arrows have many unique one year features such as carburetors and the side mount covers for the spare tires.
The car is equipped with the original side mount mirrors which are impossible to get.
It is hard to find a barn car that can top this one.
A decision was made to remove the almost 50 years of accumulated dust from the car. The chrome was polished. The interior seats and door fabric is in very poor condition but are excellent patterns. The engine was stuck and has been completely disassembled and diagnosed.
The engine needs to be rebuilt. The exterior is in very nice barn find condition and a new buyer could leave in “as found barn find condition” or could do a total restoration as the pedigree of this car would certainly justify a complete Pebble Beach restoration. However. there are many that would enjoy seeing the car in its survivor condition.
There are many that will certainly say that this is one of the greatest barn finds of the 21st century and certainly it is one of the most interesting V12 classics whether they are Packard or Pierce Arrow. always are bringing a premium price over their 8 cylinder siblings.
The 1932 Pierce Arrow is the most rare of all the V12 Pierce Arrows and finding the New York Salon V12 Coupe with the custom LeBaron body with such interesting barn find history in the 21st century is just unheard of.
The current owner has for personal reasons has made the very difficult decision to let some other collector or collection have the pleasure and distinction of restoring this car either as a survivor or as a full-fledged show car.
Keep in mind this car has never been seen by the public or show in 50 years!!!
For your research and further interpretation. you will find three videos of this car. The first one being the barn find. the second the delivery to the Chicagoland area and the third the cleanup.
Currently the engine is out of the car. the side mounts and the newly restored side mount covers are not pictured in most of the photos. This is truly a handsome car on a super long wheelbase and has no comparables because it is a one off LeBaron 12 cylinder. 1932 V12 show car. Inquiries are most welcome. if you get the voice mail feel free to leave your name and the best time to return your call.
