I am selling my 1982 Jeep CJ7.   I started this frame up restoration in September. 2016. There is still a few more things I would like to do to it. but with summer fast approaching. I wanted to get it on the road so I could play with it.   When I bought it. the previous owner told me that she had owned it for almost 20 years and kept it in a underground parking lot in Los Angeles. which explains the vehicle being rust free.
Once I got it home. I stripped it down. had it painted and reassembled it using a lot of new parts. Since the Jeep did not have a starter in it when I bought it. and I could see the fly wheel was old. so I had a local shop replace the fly wheel and we installed a new starter. Once that was in. I noticed that the original dust plate between the bell housing and starter is aluminum and it's getting pretty flat. so I had to place a small shim between the dust plate and starter. So. the dust plate needs to be replaced.
The suspension is original (shackles. springs. shocks) and they need to be replaced.   I installed a new manual steering box for the time being. and just recently located a power steering bracket and reservoir. but haven't started that project.   Because it's hot here. I installed a new radiator. new hoses. new thermostat (190). new water pump. new 6 bladed fan and fan clutch. On a hot day. it new runs as the beginning of the green on the gauge (very cool).   While it was disassembled. each of the parts (doors. fenders. hood and tailgate) were painted separately.   When I installed both inner door release/latch/lock. After several uses. I noticed that the new plastic parts are very cheap and not as good as the original. thus. they don't work like I would like them to. I have the old original parts.   I also have the rear tire mount and a spare with the original rim. but decided not to install it because I didn't want to scratch the paint.   I will leave it up to the new owner. Same goes go the steering wheel. I didn't replace it because. everyone prefers something different (I like the big old wheel look).
Also. the Jeep has a Warn bumper mounted to the front and Pro Comp that I just mount last weekend on the rear. (That is one reason you don't see a rear bumper in some of the pics).
Overall. the Jeep looks great and runs very good. I wish I had the time and money to do a few more things to it. however. we are in the planning stages of moving from a house to a condo. and the Jeep is one of the vehicles that can't make the move.
