I am selling our gorgeous 1981 Mercedes 240D. She is a true find: garage kept with only 57. 71 miles on her!
We call her Princess Buttercup and she has been in the family since she was purchased new in 1981.
She belonged to my father-in-law for the bulk of her life and has been ours for the last 12 years. She is a truly remarkable car and runs perfectly. She has been well maintained and is a real gift to anyone seeking a near-perfect example of a classic Mercedes 240D. The interior is spotless and all original with no cracks in the dash including all the wood accents or its leather seats; the headliner is perfect as well. The interior is original in every way and even still has the original Becker Europa radio!  I love this car and I'd love to keep her. but after a heart attack I had 8 months ago. the medical bills are really killing us and alas. the sale of our beloved Merc would help pay some of the many bills I owe.

She sports a very rare. 4-speed manual transmission; even more rare for a 123 diesel!
She has a full sized spare tire and even boasts the original manuals and tire changing kit along with the first aid kit!
The air conditioner and heater work and she is mechanically sound to my knowledge.

Known issues:
She has a couple of tiny rust spots as evidenced in the last three pictures. but is very minimal for a car of this age.
The antennae has broken off (even though I have kept the original) and needs replacement.
The seat belt mechanism on the driver's side set is not retracting well.
The car has been repainted back in 2006 by a reputable auto body shop in KY specializing in race cars and hot rods
Although its a new development. the driver's side door is having a small issue with not closing all the way. Sure. it shuts and locks. but I think it needs some kind of adjustment.
Otherwise. this car is in wonderful shape. And with only 57. 71 miles on her. you'll never find one so old and so new!
It has a clear title and two original keys as well.
She is ready to go to a new home to be loved and cherished as much as we have.

Disclaimer: She is a 36 year old car and has some very minor issues for a car of this age. She is being sold AS-IS. If you are looking for perfection. please look elsewhere. I am trying my best to describe the car and any issues in detail but I am not a car guy; we inherited the car years ago and I've tried to maintain her and love her. but cars are not my hobby and I only know so much about her. Hell. I drive a dreadful minivan but it's more practical for my work. That said. I truly believe she is a magnificent find and with 57. 71 miles on her and in such great shape. I think she's a steal.
