1957 Ford Thunderbird

This T-Bird is an automatic and therefore sports the 312 engine with the aluminum valve covers and shows 121. 00 plus on the odometer.  

Unfortunately this car was misrepresented when I bought it. This T-Bird looks great. but has issues. I will tell you everything I know about the car. I don't believe in surprises. whether being the buyer or the seller. First some of the bad news.

It has rust. not on the body but underneath the car. A local body shop gave me an estimate of $1500-$1700 to repair the cancer. I have included several pictures of the rust.

The doors and widows need adjusting. consequently in a hard rain. it will leak

The starter lockout switch is missing (it will start in gear)

The dash. although looking good. is pulling away on the right side

The headliner. although installed. needs to be replaced. (see pictures)

Wipers work. but not properly (may have them working soon)

Has only the port hole hardtop

THE GOOD STUFF

New windshield wiper switch

New battery as of 4/29/15

New wheel cylinder kits as of 10/17/13

New. or at least new looking carpet

New 57 Thunderbird Floor Insulation Kit installed 1/29/14

Coker wide white walls. although lots of tread they are starting too show their wear

New Seat Foam Set and seat covers as of 1/29/14

New white visors as of 1/29/14

Hardtop with strip set 11/27/13

Right and left outer rocker panel 11/27/13

Thunderbird Radio. AM/FM. Cassette with Duel Dash Mount Speakers (Original Town and Country Radio goes with car)

MISCELLANEOUS BAD STUFF

weather stripping around upper door is questionable

door hings/pins need replacing (misalignment causing water leaking around doors)

left air cable needs replacing or repair

e-brake cable needs replacing

Irritating vibration at cruising speed (I'm working on this now)

Paint is definitely a 20 footer. flaws in paint (see picture)

Stainless trim around grill is not in best shape. see picture

Crack on the passenger door about an inch or so long above the door handle (see picture)

Some other good stuff. I purchased the car south of Las Vegas. drove to San Bernardino and on to Washington state. I got constant compliments along the way. People stop and take pictures of it. I get thumbs-up while driving down the road. When parked downtown I've seen people come out of stores and admire the car. Doesn't seem to matter if they are young or old. I still get lots of great comments. Within the past year or so I've driven this car 2000 -3000 miles with no problems. The latest was a 400 mile trip in April. again with no problems. Even with all the good and bad things about this car; it is a looker.

When I bought this car it was grossly misrepresented. Again. I will not do that. I will tell you honestly everything I know about the car. Even though I've tried to describe this car accurately I'm sure I haven't mentioned every little negative point about this T-Bird. but I also haven't mentioned every positive point. but I think I've listed enough for everyone to get an idea of this T-Bird.

Any shipping of this car is buyers responsibility. but I will assist if desired. A $500 deposit must be received within 7 days of the end of the auction and the balance within 14 days of the end of the auction.
