The time has come for me to reluctantly let go of my pride and joy. its a 1971 mk1 escort. started out as 1300L now has a 1660cc crossflow fitted with lightened flywheel. dcd twin choke weber. ramflo filter. 4 branch manifold 2" powerflow exhaust system etc. (still on log book as 1300cc) i spent a year stripping it down to a bare shell and rebuilding it with many new parts. new window rubbers. new roof lining. new carpet. new wings. new front panel. new spray job in 2k ford signal orange. the shell is very solid and doesnt have the usual patches and plates welded all over like a lot of these do. its been lowered 2" all round and has a front disc brake conversion from a capri. also has a alternator conversion for better battery charging and a set of 5 very very rare genuine mk1 mexico wheels fitted. it sounds and goes fantastic!! great fun to drive and gets masses of attention wherever it goes. it has about 11 months mot and tax but the tax is free anyway. there are a few very minor jobs that that i havent got round to yet that the  new owner might like to do such as the fuel gauge doesnt work. rear parcel shelf could do with covering and there is one weather strip missing on the o/s rear door. all very minor but i feel i should mention them. i love this car and will be very sad to see it go
