Here we have a very nice driver condition 1971 Mercedes Benz 280SL. A good example to collect and enjoy. This car was purchased on March 18th. 1971 from Rallye Motors in Glen Cove. NY.
The car has been maintained by Kalbacher Auto in NY. The car has lived in the Hamptons since 2001 where it has lived a nice life of going to the beach and around town. These Pagoda 280SLs are an extremely excellent car for the summer and the hard top even makes them enjoyable in the colder months!

Mercedes Benz 280SLs were equipped with an inline-six cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection. The bonnet. trunk lid. door skins and tonneau cover were made of aluminum to reduce weight. The comparatively short and wide chassis. combined with an excellent suspension. powerful brakes and radial tires gave the W 113 superb handling for its time. The styling of the front. with its characteristic upright Bosch "fishbowl" headlights and simple chrome grille. dominated by the large three-pointed star in the nose panel. pays homage to the then already legendary 300 SL roadster.

This car is a nice driver. The car has the factory pinch welds on the inner front fenders and it has the notches next to the headlights. signifying the car has original front fenders. Car includes owners booklet and original registration's card from 1971! Odometer reads 31. 00 but actual mileage is unknown.

The car is a nice driver. It will not win a pebble beach concours however the car is an excellent example that you can drive and enjoy. The car does have some paint chips. dings. and scratches but overall is pretty solid. The driver side floor does have a small amount of rust.
