1961 CHRYSLER 300 G CONVERTIBLE w/FACTORY AIR

 Up for bid is my 1961 Chrysler 300 G Convertible. I purchased this car in 1982 after it had been sitting outside for 11 years. As you can see by the photos this car is in need of a full. extensive restoration. My intention was to restore the car but as the years passed marriage. home purchase. kids and life's expenses all came first. As time passed the value of these beautiful Letter cars increased along with the costs to restore them making it impossible for me to commit to a restoration project. Now I have the opportunity to make a business purchase so the proceeds from this sale will go to good use. In the 31 years I have owned this car it has been stored indoors for about 25 of them. Unfortunately in the 11 years. prior to buying it. from 1971-1982. the car sat outside in the back of a welding yard where it suffered most of its rust damage. To the best of my knowledge the car is complete but it is possible a part or two may be missing. I did purchase a windshield and drivers door glass for the car about 20 years ago and they will go with the car.

Through the Chrysler 300 Club International I was able to have the factory build code interpretated. It showed that the car was scheduled to be built on 9/23/1960 and was delivered to the Harger-Haldeman Dealership in Los Angeles. California on 11/1/1960. It is body code #845. Trim code #833. Paint code is BB1 Formal Black. Engine code is R41 HP. Tire code 96 which is 8. 00x15 goodyear blue streak nylon w/3" whitewalls. Other Codes are #293-Power Seat six way. nbsp; #311 Air Conditioning including Heater. #332 White Convertible Top. #387 Closed crankcase Vent System. #422 Golden Tone radio. #441 Tinted Glass all Windows. and #522 Axle Ratio of 3. 23.

Some condider the 300G to be the most desirable Letter Car to be built. Only 337 G convertibles were built and the 300 club states that 119 are known to survive today. I have been told that of the 337 built. 60 had factory air conditioning and this car is one of 12 known in existence with factory air.
