Selling on behalf of the owners family. A well known Hot Rod owned by a Barossa wine maker since about 2009. In 2011 the Rod was modified with modern and a more reliable drive line for highway driving and Hot Rod meets. The body is the original wooden frame with steel body. not fibreglass. The motor. trans and diff were all replaced during the modification process. All receipts available. The motor is a small block Chev 350 ci 290HP 326 ft lbs torque. 4 bolt main 8. 5:1 comp ratio. But was Blueprinted  and a Comp cams Thumpr Hydraulic roller cam. The compression ratio was also raised. The trans is a late '80's TH 700 imported from the U. S. The trans was fully reconditioned and fitted with a Stage 2 shift kit. The torque converter was modified to stall at 2700rpm to work more effectively with the Thumpr cam. The diff has a heavy duty housing and 28 spline axles. shortened to suit the coupe with Smoothie wheels and HQ brakes with 1/2" studs. The fully reconditioned 9" LSD diff is fitted with New 3. 7:1 gears. These mods were performed by HORNY PERFORMANCE in Victoria. Their Facebook site has 70+ pics of this actual car being modified. I have listed as much information as I can gather from the receipts available. There is numerous pages of small things and servicing being performed since the current owner has owned it.
The paintwork has some cracks because of the wooden framed body flexing and some age fatigue. The vehicle is in the Adelaide CBD and can be inspected by appointment only. Transport can be arranged door to door. The Rod has had Historic rego and the plates may be transferable to an South Australian buyer. Please bid to buy. A great opportunity to own a turnkey Hot Rod and enjoy Rod meets or Sunday drives to your favourite location. The replacement cost of this Rod would far exceed the reserve price. Any offers after the bidding would be discussed with the family who have the final say on price.
