Wow! Eye-catching 1986 Mercedes Benz 560SL convertible.   This is a very desirable Southern car. originally delivered in Greenville. South Carolina for $52. 75 according the window sticker that is part of original documentation. including Owner's Manual. that comes with the car.

This is a very original car with functional factory radio. wheels. and interior finishes.  It had a very high quality repaint some years ago.   Overall. it looks beautiful with a great shine. but there are a few cosmetic flaws when looking closely.   There is a scratch/light impression on the top of the rear fender. and a few other marks in the paint here and there. There are some corrosion spots around the trunk gasket. visible only when the trunk lid is lifted. No other rust on the car.

The interior looks great: no cracks in the dash. and only minor wear on the driver's seat and arm rest. Carpet wear is lower than one would expect. with some spots on the carpet in less visible areas  Overall the interior and exterior are very presentable for a 31 year old convertible.

Mechanically. the engine idle is a little lumpy. but the car starts quickly hot or cold. and pulls hard from stop light start to redline.   Lots of torque! The heater fan and controls work. but the compressor currently is not engaging for AC.   There is pressure in the system. and we are working on why the AC does not start.  Tires are Michelins that ride smoothly and have some remaining tread life. The key switch is not working in the driver's door. but pneumatic control of all locks works fine from the passenger door or trunk.   There is an occasional clunk sound in the front suspension when driving in parking lots. but the ball joints. tie rod ends. and other suspension components are tight and have been recently replaced.   It has fully functional ABS brakes unlike earlier models.

The odometer indicates 128K mi and works. but true mileage is unknown. We think it may be 228k? (the odometer may have failed to turn over to 200. 00 after reaching 199. 99. 9 miles).

Overall. this classic car is a pleasure to look at and a pleasure to drive.

Please be prepared to complete the transaction.  I am flexible. willing to work with local delivery within reason. pickup options. and shipping.  Clear title in hand.
