1987 PORSCHE 911 3.2 Carrera Targa RED. G50 GEARBOX AND VERY LOW MILEAGE. for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2) based on 353 votes

This auction is for my 1987 Porsche 911 3. 2 Carrera Targa (with factory fitted Sport pack) in Guards red with the very desirable G50 gearbox and black half leather interior.

The private registration number WILL be included in the sale.

This car has covered a genuine low mileage of only 100. 15 miles with fourteen old MOTs that confirm the mileage as genuine.

There are 12 stamps in the service booklet and the car has had 9 previous owners. It has been very well cared for in the past and I believe has spent a lot of its time in a heated and dry garage.

This car is TOTALLY UNMOLESTED and has never had any welding carried out on it or had the engine removed to have work done to that either. It really has not needed any at all.

Unfortunately the MOT ran out last week and due to a recent illness I have not been able to renew the MOT. I know that the rear silencer is blowing but before the onset of my illness I bought a nearly new sports pre silencer and rear silencer and these will come with the car. I cannot see any reason why the car will not pass the MOT straight away as everything is working perfectly.

This engine has plenty of power and runs superbly. It does not leak any oil at all. The oil pressure is just as it should be along with the temperature that the engine runs at. A Correct spec Bosch battery was fitted less than 500 miles ago. The charging system was also checked out at this time and found to be charging as it should. The engine bay is very clean and all of the engine tin ware is in very good condition indeed.

This G50 gearbox is a pleasure to use and changes gear like a modern day car and is effortless unlike some of the earlier 911s that had the 915 gearboxes fitted to them. Some. not all. of the 915 gearboxes had a problem with the first and third gear synchromesh and because of this care had to be taken when changing gear. You have no similar problem with this gearbox which leaves you less time worrying about gear changes and more time to enjoy the drive.

The heat exchangers have been replaced not long ago and as such are in really good condition. Both of the heater flapper boxes are also working well and are not rusty.  A recent service has been carried out on the car.

A top of the range Clifford alarm and immobiliser that works alongside the central locking has also been fitted and again is working well.

New front shock absorbers have been fitted within the last 1000 miles.

The Fuch wheels are in excellent condition and have no kerb marks on them All 4 tyres have over 5mm of tread left on them and are in excellent condition with no cuts or damage either.

The exterior of the car is in excellent condition as I hope the pictures will show (although the pictures do not do the car justice whatsoever). There are two rust areas on this car the first one being in the drivers "B" post where you can just see some rust starting to come through in a small area around the latch. The passenger side "B" post is fine. The second area of rust is on the rear bumper just behind the bumper rubber strips. You can see some rust just starting to come through. This would not take much to put right and it would be an easy job to remove the bumper. strip it and then repaint it.  The underneath of this car. floor pans etc is totally rock solid as is the inside of the car underneath the carpets. The inside of the wheel arches still have the original factory coating of underseal on them and would. if you wanted to of course. probably clean up nice and shiny. The front inner and outer wings are in excellent condition. There are none of the usual rust bubbles around the headlights that tell you that rust is starting to make an appearance.  The headlights are nice and clear and again totally rust free. Another area of concern on these cars is rust beginning to come through around the rear window and along the sides of the window but there is no sign of any at all on this car.

Inside the luggage compartment there is no sign of any rust at all and no repairs whatsoever have been carried out in the usual places around the front bumper mounting points.  It really is in a lovely rust free condition inside there. A deep pile original luggage compartment carpet has also been fitted which was one of the factory options that came with the car.

The rear spoiler is one of the nicest that I have seen on one of these cars and has none of the usual rusty studs that push the rubber out in places and make it look tatty. The front lip spoiler is also in really nice condition as well.

The targa top is in very good condition and looks as thought it has had a replacement sometime in the not so distant past. It is watertight and is not too noisy when cruising at high speed.

The sills on the car are in excellent condition and do NOT need replacing at all.

All four of the rubber bumper bellows are in excellent condition with no splits or damage to them.

The interior of the car is also in superb condition. The front seats are the comfort half leather and black pinstriped seats and are also 8 way electrically adjusted and are working as they should. The rear seat back rests are also half leather and have no rips or tears to them. The rear seat bases are black pinstripe and again in excellent condition. Rear inertia seat belts are fitted as standard on this car and again work as they should.

The door cards. door bins & lids. sun visors. rear side panels. rear parcel shelf etc are in perfect condition as well.

The black dashboard has no cracks or shrinkage to it and looks as new. All of the gauges and controls work with the exception of the front fresh air blower that has a mind of its own and works intermittently. Even the headlamp height adjustment is working on this car. The auto heat is functioning as it should and certainly blows a lot of air into the cabin.

I believe that this year 911 should of had the four spoked steering wheel fitted to it but it appears that a previous owner has fitted a three spoke wheel to the car. I personally prefer the look of this three spoked steering wheel but it would be easy to source and fit a four spoked wheel if you really wanted to change it.

A high quality Kenwood radio/CD player has been fitted and sounds really nice through the front and rear uprated speakers.

There are 14 previous MOTs with the car which as I say confirms that the mileage is genuine. the original manufacturers leather wallet with the original 911 handbook and service book along with the Blaupunkt radio manual and several of the other information booklets that Porsche provide with the car.  The original toolkit. Unused spare wheel and Jack.

I will also include a Bentley Porsche Carrera 3. 2 manual that is a must if you own one of these cars as it explains in great detail everything that you need to know about your 911. an original Porsche owners valeting kit that could be purchased as an optional extra at the time.

A good quality car cover will also come with the car if the winning bidder would like it.

I have tried to be as honest as possible about the condition of the car and it is only because of my illness that I now find myself having to sell the car and also this is the reason why I have not been able to take it for its MOT. The tax also ran out at the end of September so the car will need to be taxed.

Please do not think that this is another one of those rusty Porsche 911s that you see advertised as this is definitely not the case with this car. This is a genuine (and now becoming quite hard to find these days and coupled with the very low mileage and the fact that it has been unmolested is also quite a sought after 911).

I would prefer anyone who is seriously interested in this car to come and view it and I am always happy to put the kettle on and let you have a good look over it. under it and in it.  You will definitely not be disappointed at all.

Any inspection is more than welcome and advised when buying a car like this. It will also tell you just how nice that this particular 911 Targa really is.

Unfortunately I can only post 12 pictures of the car on this auction but I have several more pictures if any genuine bidders would like to see them.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like any further information about the car.

Hi there,

I thought I would send you a message to see if the car was still for sale? It would be great if you could let me know. I am a Porsche fan, originally from Le Mans, this vehicle is a dream of mine.

Many thanks,
