1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible

You are viewing a freshly professionally built Pro Touring Pontiac with 156 sorted out miles in new condition.   The car began as a 400 convertible floor 3 speed that spent its entire life in California.   Very dry car with original floor and trunk pans.   Original proteco. plate paperwork and black plate.   The goal was to build a clean and high performance street beast. which the end result speaks for itself.   The car is sorted out and runs/drives excellent.   The car was finished 1 year ago with many years in the making.

Body/Paint: 
The body is all original steel with the following modes.   Rear bumper removed. tail panel smoothed with fuel fill behind license plate.   No key locks with cable opener for trunk. side marker lights removed. shaved door handles. mirror and key locks.   Smoothed firewall. trunk pan altered with the rear tubbed to accommodate wider tires.   The paint is base/clear gloss black.   Multiple coats of primer. blocked and reapplied.   Color sanded and buffed to a beautiful finish.   Door poppers with Fob.  

Interior:  The interior is custom with modifications throughout.   Sound proofing installed throughout.   All leather and swede on the dash. seats and door/quarter panels.   Very expensive and is beautiful.   The color is Charcoal gray with contrast between leather and swede.   The carpet is high quality wool.   Seats are custom with tilt head rest. fold and adjustable.   No stereo or AC.   Vintage Air bi level heater with defrost.   The sound of the car is your entertainment.   Covan carbon cluster with Autometer gauge package with Speedo (digital odometer). tach. volt. oil pressure. temp and fuel.   Custom console with door poppers and electric window buttons.   Billet specialties polished steering wheel.   The interior is very nice and comfortable.   Nicely finished custom trunk.       

Top:  Non power done in beautiful Mercedes Benz cloth material.   Frame is restored and comes with boot.  

Running Gear:  GM 502/502 horse fuel injected aluminum head crate engine.   Ceramic coated headers. HEI ignition. Rick's Hot Rods fuel system with gauge. Stainless steel custom gas tank. March serpentine. polished aluminum alternator and water pump. polished aluminum radiator with thermostatic controlled dual puller fans (runs cool). polished aluminum hood hinges and cross braces.   Polished aluminum master cylinder.   The transmission is a Keisier Engineering 5 speed TKO-600 with low profile internal offset shifter. Keisier mini shoft tower and special lever stub.   Ratio: 2. 87. . 89. 1. 28. 1. 0. 0. 64.   Balanced driveline for TKO.   Keisier 11 inch titanium/aluminum bell housing.   High performance clutch including modern pedal effort nodular iron pressure plate. high torque clutch disk with rebound control.   The rear end is a narrowed Curry Ford 9 inch custom housing with Strange 31 spline stainless steel axles.   370 gears with posi.     

Suspension:  The front suspension is a Fat Man complete rack and pinion clip with power steering.   Tubular A arms. Baer drop spindles and sway bar.   Chris Alston's Chassis works G bar rear suspension package with canted upper bars. poly bushing style lower control arms. includes Varishock Quickset 1 coil overs and springs.   Hotchkis sub frame connectors.   A very stout suspension.

Bright work:  highly polished.  

Glass:  All new tinted glass.  

Exhaust: Custom build 3 inch Mandel bent exhaust system.   Sounds awesome.

Brakes:  Baer big brake system with large slotted rotors all the way around.

Wheels/Tires:  Intro polished aluminum wheels.   18X7 front and 20X 10. rear.   Nitto NT 555 Extreme Perf 285/30ZR-20 rear and 235/50/18 front.  

Summary:  This is a very nice car and professional build.   Great car for looks. color. drivability and performance.   It is super nice.   Ready to go for a new owner.   I have over 150 pictures of the car so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures.   Great value and a quality car for the money.   Why build when this car is done with a reasonable price.
