vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this beautiful 1971 Corvette Stingray Coupe in fantastic condition with the Muncie 4-Speed manual transmission. This Corvette looks great. drives great. and runs extremely strong with a factory GM Performance crate engine. The car has received a "Frame On" restoration with newer paint. a fully restored interior. the newer crate engine. and a transmission rebuild. There are two engines that go with the sale of this Corvette. the crate engine in the car now and the original numbers matching engine. The car is loaded with options such as power windows. power steering. power brakes. and tilt-telescopic steering column. This Corvette's comes with the original "Numbers Matching" engine with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the engine pad. which is pictured below. We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 "chrome bumper" Corvettes from 1968 to 1972 is absolutely red hot right now and on the rise. Please peruse all of the photos. video. list of numbers. and other information below to get a true sense of how nice this Corvette really is.

This Corvette has the best of both works with the engine. it has the better performance. reliability. durability. and speed from the GM crate engine along with the added value and originality from the original engine. Currently installed in the car is a GM Performance crate engine that was brand new and installed a few years ago. The previous owner said that the car has been driven less than 5. 00 miles since the installation. It is a factory GM Performance engine with 4-bolt mains and high flow heads; the information and engine specifications are pictured below. The GM part number is: 19210007. Here is the link to the engine on GM Performance website. The current price for the engine without intake. carburetor. or exhaust manifolds is $3. 76. 00. This car has an Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold. Edelbrock Carburetor. and headers. Very importantly. also included with the car is the original numbers matching engine that was installed in the car new.

Along with the documentation and invoice for from the GM crate engine. there are dozens of receipts pictured below for maintenance and repairs for the car over the years. The receipts total over $11. 00 spent on the car. which does not include the money spent on the paintjob by the pervious owner.

As a side note. this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.   We hand pick each car after careful inspection.   Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.   We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.   Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.   We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.   If you have a question about the Corvette. just give us a call.

numbers

Please note when checking the numbers that not only do the correct stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts. but all of the dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For example. all of the dates for the individual engine components and the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could be assembled. All of the parts I checked follow this rule and are dated correctly.

condition

Exterior

The red exterior is in great driver condition. As one can see in the photos. the finish has dazzling gloss. deep shine. and smooth finish. The chrome and other bright work shows very well overall. The wheels and center caps are in excellent condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The BF Goodrich tires have about 80% tread left. There are a few blemishes around car and some sanding marks visible in the photos and some other very small spots that were too tiny to show up in pictures. but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. The underside of the car is clean the frame is totally solid around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire. We have included many photos of the underside to show how good it looks.

Interior

The black interior of the Corvette looks absolutely superb. The seats look virtually brand new with no split seems. rips. or signs of wear. The carpet is also in like-new condition with no tears. holes. or stains. This included the rear carpet which is often neglected. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash and console are in terrific condition with no fading or sun damage. The radio sounds great and is a modern unit with CD player. The door panels are in great condition with no cracks or wear. The jack and jack handle are still with the car. stored correctly behind the passenger seat. and pictured below. There is also a spare tire with the car. This Corvette has not been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes whatsoever.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in excellent mechanical condition. It starts right away every time. idles smooth. and runs fabulous with the newer GM crate engine. As stated above. there are over $11. 00 in receipts with the car so it is well sorted mechanically. The car is a great driver that feels nice the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph. shifting through all the gears. braking to stoplight. and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The car runs cool and does not overheat. The transmission shifts well. does not pop out of gear. and the shifter is tight. The clutch feels good and was also replaced during the engine swap. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very quick. it is much quicker than with the stock engine. Also. the engine compartment is clean and detailed as one can see in the photos.

The horn works as do the wipers. indicators. all interior and exterior lights. and the blower for the heater on all speeds. All of the gauges work and even the clock keeps time. The entire vacuum system for the headlights and wiper door works correctly from both their respective switches on the dash and the override switches. The entire operation from both switches can be viewed in the video below. There is some gear noise audible in the video. Some of the fiber optic system works. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car. especially with T-tops out on a beautiful day.

A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system. We consistently receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all of the exterior lights. headlights. indicators. tail lights. etc. . are working and to make the driver aware of a a burned out bulb. Each lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable the runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small indicators on the console and each has its own finer optic cable. When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic cable and illuminates the corresponding indicator on the console. If someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the lamp housing. does any work to the center console. or if there is a break in a connection or anywhere along the cable. that indicator no longer works. As one can image. over time this is very common.

Overall Condition

Overall. this 1971 Corvette is in fantastic driver condition. It has the best of both worlds with the performance and reliability of the crate engine along with the originality of the accompanying numbers matching original engine. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing and as one can see. this car is quite correct. There are photos below of the VIN stamp on the engine block. suffix code. engine assembly date. engine block casting number. transmission assembly date. and transmission VIN stamp. In my opinion and based on our experience the "Chrome Bumper" cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible and hottest in the entire Corvette market right now. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
