RARE 1958 Edsel Pacer Convertible older restoration modern upgrades nice driver

    This auction is for a used 1958 Edsel Pacer convertible. This is a refurbished original car that was done 15 years ago and was sold out of a private collection in 2011 at Barrett Jackson in West Palm Beach for $52. 00. 00. The current owner is selling the car due to health reasons. no reasonable offer will be refused. I am the owners mechanic and have done all the mechanical upgrades on this fun driving car. This car is the epitome of 50's cool and always gets attention!

The body is very solid except for 2 small holes starting in floorpan (front footwells) which are an easy fix. The paint is in good condition. still shines nicely. there are several small chips & scratches all of which can be easily blended. The body is nice and straight with no visible "rust bubbles". The chrome is still very nice as is all the stainless trim. The glass is in nice shape as well. The car also comes with the skirts(in trunk). the front hubcaps needs to be swapped with rears to install skirts.

The convertible top is a new Hartz StayFast canvas top which was just  professionally installed 5 months ago. The power top system and top frame work flawlessly. all top weatherstripping is new as well. Between the top & weatherstripping the cost was over $2600. 00. There is also a new matching white canvas top boot to finish it off . The interior is older but still in very good condition with no tears. seats are still nice and firm . door panels are in acceptable condition. The carpet could use replacement as it has some discoloration. There is a custom made center console which houses the stereo system (working). The lower metal of dash is a bit scratched and could use a repaint. all dash trim is there and in good shape. The car also has power windows all of which are working as well as the power seat. The TeleTouch  electric shifter system has been gone through and works flawlessly as well.

The car is mechanically sound. the engine appears to be an early FE engine. owner was told by the estate representative that it was the original  however it has the wrong valve covers on it. This may be for clearance issues on the upgraded modern power brake booster. The engine runs nice and strong with no excessive smoking or lower end noises. It does have some lifter noise when started after sitting for extended periods. this condition goes away after some driving on a consistent basis.   The cooling system has been gone through . the car runs nice and cool on hot Florida days. The complete fuel system has been gone through. it includes the addition . n electric primer pump as well as rebuilt mechanical fuel pump & carb. The fuel tank was cleaned out and inspected in 2011 as well as fuel sender . The generator has been replaced with a modern HO alternator. The ignition system has been upgraded to a Pertronix system for reliability and stronger spark. The complete brake system has been rebuilt and modern disc brakes added to the front for excellent stopping ability. The front suspension has been rebuilt recently. ower steering system works well with no known leaks . nbsp;there are new shocks all the way around. The car sits on fairly new wide whitewall radials. The transmission shifts nicely. no slippage or delayed engagement noticed on numerous road tests. The chassis looks to be very solid. no issues noted.
