1980 Mini Clubman 1275 - Original Brown Paint for sale

For sale is my 1980 Mini Clubman which is in exceptional condition for the year.

All the brown paint you see on the car is the original paint as it left the factory. it even has the original number plates and dealers sticker in the rear window. The roof was painted white 2 years ago which gives it a modern twist on what is such a classic colour of car. The car has always been garaged by myself and the previous owners which can be proved by the condition - There cannot be many 33 year old cars in this condition. Don't get me wrong. there are tiny imperfections but nothing that detracts from the car overall or its character. It gets lots of respect by both the young and older generations. you will always get comments and people that want to talk about it.

The car started life as a 1 litre automatic but was converted to a 1275cc A+ carb engine and manual gearbox. The engine has done 59. 00 miles and the clocks in the car reflect this as they are the ones from the engine. The car itself however has only done 23. 00 miles. The previous owner was a mini specialist garage in Bristol who had the car in their showroom and changed the engine themselves as the old one was sluggish and they wanted a manual box. therefore you can be assured it has been carried out professionally. The V5 has been updated to reflect this and if you search the numberplate on insurance comparisons etc. it will come up saying it is a 1275. As for insurance. I am 29 and have my no claims against my other car. I insure the mini fully comp with limited mileage of 3. 00 miles a year and I pay £100 to the penny through Adrian Flux insurance. Certain insurance companies such as Heritage came in around £79 so please do not think the insurance is going to be bad. I have declared all modifications on my insurance also. The radiator is a 2 core super cool radiator and it has an export cooling fan fitted so there will never be an issue with it overheating. I have driven the car stuck in traffic for over an hour on the M4 in the heatwave and it didn't have any problems. The exhaust is an LCB 3 branch manifold and it has a twin box RC40 exhaust. The distributor has been changed for an electronic ignition.

The seats. carpet. headlining. parcel shelf etc are all original. The seats are super comfy and I never have to think twice before taking it on long journeys. I have some other seats that I was planning to put in and get a leather re-trim but they just aren't as comfy and I wanted the new owner to have the option of whether they wanted to do the interior themselves or leave it as original. The dash is walnut and the clock surrounds match. I have fitted a stereo as the car had never had one fitted and have installed speakers below the rear seats.

The suspension is the adjustable Hi-Lo suspension and there is 1. 5 fixed negative bottom arms with poly flex bushes. This gives the car a fantastic stance and makes it handle superbly. The front brakes have been changed to discs which are 8. 4" with brake servo which give amazing braking distance - Just as good as my 2006 VW Eos. The wheels are 12 inch superlites and the tyres have good tread. The wheels have a chrome finish with white centres.

The car is taxed and Moted until Jan 2014 and it passed the previous mot with no advisories. The car has done very little mileage since and has had no expense spared on it. I have had it tuned up so it is running smooth and is fantastic on fuel - on a recent 250 mile trip. I got 41mpg. Please do not expect a flying machine. I had it tuned so that it is economical and safe - none of this tuning to get the fastest speed from the engine.

I have probably missed loads of information so please contact me by phone if you are interested in buying the car. As I say. I am in two minds on whether to re-trim the interior in leather and advertise for around £5000 but I am advertising with its original interior for an extremely reasonable price. It is worth every penny and I welcome any inspection that you wish - There is nothing to hide. I have lots more photos and can take any specific ones that you wish - just ask. You can contact me on 0771 777 3417.

Now the boring bit which shouldn't concern genuine ebayers who are honestly wanting to buy the car. I have the car advertised elsewhere so can end at any time. In all honesty. for this type of car I would have thought people would contact me first to arrange coming to look at it rather than placing a blind bid. I will follow false bids up and claim costs back so please do not waste my time or yours.
