Arguably the end of the classically shaped Jaguars.  You should know that these are not technically advanced and are extremely easy to work on if you have a basic mechanical methodical knowledge. Car has lived in a dry regional area.  No doubt it does need some mechanical work to return on the streets.  These are always a unique model to drive. think luxury sports yacht than rock solid XKR.

Overall in decent condition in my opinion.  There is no registration but the plates will be left on for simplicity.  Purchased the Jaguar some time ago with the view to make it a daily drive and completed some jobs on the car.  I feel this is still perfectly suited to being a daily drive.
Sunroof works well.  I have driven it 200m from the workshop onto a tilt tray.  The brakes are excellent and the gearbox is smooth.  Drivers seat electrics tilt etc.  Twin fuel tanks switch over as they should. Tyres are excellent.  Has factory tool kits. dealer fitted alarm/ car phone modules and matching spare Pepperpot alloy.  Interior Connolly leather is supple and clean. It has clearly been stored in a garage all its life.  Boot area is super dry and that knocked me right over. I am led to believe this car was has the 'Luxury' pack.
The fella I bought it from couldn't get it running one day and pulled apart the interior and ignition thinking it was a wiring problem.  It has since been put back together to find what is absent.   I can confirm after having owned various models that by the mid 80's the electrics on Rover/ Jaguar cars were actually excellent using modern thinking Bosch/ Lucas components.

Faults I'm aware of:
*It needs an interior floor carpet kit (Kept by last owner).  Rear rhs door trim needs a new mdf backing card.  Gear selector surround is missing veneer.  Dash face veneer and door veneer strips could do with replacement if you want it to be perfect.
*Paint - Should you want it as a club show car it would need the paint touched up on bonnet and a few other places. Considering its age and British attitude to metal proofing this is far better than expected.
*Steering belt squeals when turned.  Either it is loose or belt rubber is old.
*Motor has a leaky hgasket. Will miss on cyl 3.  Bought it non running with the coolant system drained.  Personally checked wiring harness and found power to pump. Checked pump and the bloke had wired it backwards so it blew fuel instead of sucking fuel! The car was registered up to 2 years ago thus it hasn't been sitting for long like this.  Was going to resolve this. however side tracked by other constant project cars.
*It usually starts instantly. but when it won't. there is a loose connection between coil and harness which then needs a jiggle. I would recommend these connections be cleaned and tightened correctly since we know what the last owner did.  Fuel pump & fuel filter works ok but I would recommend its replacement as I suspect it is not supplying full pressure.
*Also to add - rhs rear window has magically stopped going down/up (but it has for the last 5 months) This probably happened when I refitted the door trim and likely the window plug has come loose.

I know you'll love this Jag!  This isn't a heap at all.  Put some TLC in and get something stunning out.
