1949 Chevrolet Fleetline Salon Deluxe for sale
Current customer rating: (73 votes ) based onWipers. heater. defroster. horn. lights. blinkers. air vents. and all windows and doors work as they should. Radio doesn't work but another radio and many. many other parts are included with the car. Car is 67 years old. not perfect. nor priced as such. Overall drives great and is in beautiful driver condition. People have frowned at the 4 door feature. but salons are all 4 doors. a must in order to fold down the rear seat. impossible in a 2 door.
Chassis Upgrades:Approx. 1000 hrs to complete. First the stock rear floors under the rear seat and clear back were removed along with the stock gas tank and spare tire tub. A 53 Chevy station wagon rear floor area with it's dogbone gas tank. spare tire tub and fold down rear seat were retrofitted and welded into the fleetline. A 1" x 2" tube steel framework was welded into place where the rear seat braces were removed. This allowed the seat to fold down and create a cargo/sleeping area large enough for two adults or lots of stuff. See pics. Beautiful bulkhead cabinets of solid mahogany utilizing nautical hardware were built into and over the rear fender wells. Full size bumper jack fits easily within the passenger side cabinet. Nautical hardware is used liberally throughout the entire build. The trunk and seat back and bottom along with the entire floorboard area all the way to the firewall is covered in a heavy ribbed rubber mat material wall to wall. Underneath that is sound deadening duramat.
