66 2 door hard top. This was an ex-race car. That has positives and negatives. the positive is that it was not on the road or out in the elements for most of its life. the negative is it underwent surgery and track use. The Good: the floor on this Nova is absolutely rust free. If you know these era cars. including Novas. they are unibody. No frame. the floor is literally the foundation! Many decent looking Novas sell with the claim. "nice car. will need floors". Unless you are very talented. or rich. this is a real problem. for without the floor structure. you are dumping money into a car that can never be road worthy.  The Bad: as stated. this was a race car. and it looks like it has been for many a moon. I see this car might have been white once. blue once and now red. And the red is a 20 footer race track paint job. Tires have dry rot not safe. Mechanical description: this is a roller. no trans or engine. It has a narrowed Dana 60. feels like a spool. when rolling or turning. Just a guess. No idea of gear ratio or condition of Dana. has Strange axles. 15 inch Weld racing rims 3 1/2 fronts 5 lug GM. and 12 inch rears 5 lug Mopar. Hurst quarter shifter. dual electric fuel pumps. braided lines and drive shaft. Has a good looking radiator. The front end has had work done to the shock towers. They have been shaved to allow more room for headers. maybe a BBC? Its a very nice professional looking job. a very nice plus. if you've ever worked on a SBC in a 66-67 Nova. The rear. is a an older style ladder bar system. Not exactly what a racer would choose compared to a 4 link. But. its much closer to being a street car. as it has the full length leaf springs. though narrowed in for the huge rear wheels. The car is back-haft'd with frame connectors. and not the original floor pan in the trunk. its now changed and beefed for the new suspension system. The ladder system looks as if it has undergone several modifications over the years. old welds still present. ect. Not at all the quality of the front tower work. It could easily be changed to a standard "ladderless" or cleaned up. which I will do if this doesn't sell in this 3 day auction. It has an 8 point cage. with side bars. again. I will remove most. especially the side bars if I still own it later this week. Has painless wiring. automatic brake pedal. rear mounted battery area. fuel cell. one race bucket. full headliner. pretty decent carpet. and more I'm probably forgetting. Questions? Ask! 269 223 2763Cosmetic description: the paint as stated is race track worthy. thats it. The body panels align good. and are straight. the front fenders feel thin. probably aftermarket. maybe for weight saving? There is evidence of bondo in the usual places. I would guess from banging around. its not a rust bucket. The glass is ALL there. NO lexan (thank goodness) and the door window regulators are still in and work smooth. (a big plus if this is ever to be on the street again). The dash is not destroyed. still has the metal frame intact. but covered in a piece of sheet metal. Will be an easy redo. guages and pad. Nice windshield. Bumpers are straight. and have very nice chrome. especially the front. near perfect. Headlight buckets have dings. Doors open and close properly. Trunk deck lid is a ZERO! Old 4 pin warped. chipped. ill fitting fiberglass piece. a steel replacement or new glass one is a must. The steel hood is perfectly straight. though pinned. but with original hinges.  if you are going to race you wont mind the huge ugly scoop out front. If not. the fiberglass scoop must come off. and either a cowl covering the existing hole. or a new hood is in order. Either way it will enhance the looks tremendously. my opinion. Summary: this Nova would make a great cruiser/pro street car. Or of course a great nostalgic drag car. possibly a gasser. But this car will never be a number 1 show car. my opinion. unless you have a lot of time and desire. If you look at the other Novas on this site and other sites like it. you will notice the BIG corporation businesses. have jumped in the game. since these cars bring so much money restored. The day of finding a clean decent priced 66 67 Nova are over my friend. Either pony up 50 to 100K or buy a rusted out shell. that the big boys weren't interested in. This car fits somewhere. in between. The solid rust free undercarriage. makes this car worthy of what ever you choose to do with it. Drive it and enjoy. knowing 66 2 door hardtop Novas WILL keep increasing. as supply always decreases. 60's Corvettes. Chevelles and Novas are better than money in the bank. Two years ago. 30K would buy a pristine 66. now thats the starting price. This Nova with time and tlc. will always appreciate. being rust free underneath. anything CAN be changed on top. The muscle/classic car scene has excluded some fans do to the ridculous prices. This one IS affordable.  Disclaimer: this car is FAR from perfect. I've tried my best to describe. If possible. come and look at it. But often this is just not possible due to distance. Hopefully my 100% ebay rating will help you in your decision. Toss an offer my way. the worst I could say was no thanks.  Questions? 269 223 2763 Bob
