Up for sale is my 2006 Cayman S. I purchased this car after searching weeks for what I consider the perfect representation of a Cayman and the classiest overall appearance. The car has 99k adult driven miles with absolutely NO mechanical problems. I regularly serviced this vehicle myself and pampering was always the highest priority. I've owned the car for several years and it's always kept out of the weather. As preventive maintenance the following items have been replaced in the past 6 months. all belts. water pump. all fluids and radiators flushed. New rear tires. breakes. oil change with oil filter cut open to reveal NO metal particles. and brake sensors within the last 60 days. It will more than likely have new tires on the front prior to leaving for its new home. I do not have all service receipts. I never intended to sell the vehicle and I'm not a dealer. Most of the photos were taken at a friends shop and you can see by the photos that I have friends who are able to assist me with any aspect of a Porsche. The car is equipped with the triptonic transmission with shifting capabilities on the steering wheel. Single disc in dash CD player with multi-disc changer located in the front compartment. Premium Bose Audio System. Heated leather seats. no sticky radio knobs. properly working power seat with memory. cold A/C. all original manuals. tools. air pumps etc. Last year I contacted a company that sold me the last glass engine cover they made for the Cayman. It really gave the exotic super car look allowing you to see the motor through the back window. It was created with sound dampening materials and is more quite than the factory metal cover. Painting the intake manifold will add a nice look to complete the motor bay appearance upgrade I've not yet finished. But for now. its impressively beautiful.
This car needs absolutely nothing but you. it loves to be driven. My wife and I enjoy drives to the Tennessee mountains where we can can hang the cures at lower speed. I'm 44yrs old and this was going to be my car for the golden years. however my career is dictating things for next few years. I'm currently serving in the United States Army. I have an 8 month training session starting in 30 days. after which I'll be deploying for 16 months. I do not want to store this beautiful care and letting it sit for nearly 2 years is not reasonable for me. I have more photos avail and will answer any question. the car has clean title and a small bank loan against it which may be settled prior to sale. if not the title will be sent overnight via mail when I received it from my bank which I was told is 7 days from date of payoff. Sorry no trades. no personal check.
I can assist with shipping and will contribute $400. 00 however nothing moves until funds have been varified as received. I've also listed the Cayman locally and on other sites to assist in a quick sale prior to my departure.
4-2-2017. I added a few more photos. however eBay is limiting me to 24 photos. email me with any questions.
A few buyer questions I'd like to answer:Q. Has the motor had any modification?A. No. 100% stock!
Q. Car fax shows 4 previous owners?A. Yes. original owner was an elderly gentleman. when he passed away the vehicle was willed to one of his sons. that son did not want it and it was then registered to another son who traded it to a dealer. then to me. Car fax confirms this. please look at the dates of ownership and you will see this transpired over about a 3 or 4 month period.
Q. Has there been any indication of IMS bearing issues?A. No!. a close friend of mine holds the patent for the IMS Bearing replacement part. This guy knows Porsche inside and out and teaches Porsche certified mechanics from all around the world. My car has been to his shop and he gives the car a clean bill of health. explaining that this Cayman is way above average.
Q. Any maintenance issues past or present?A. I don't know about past. however the original owner must have taken excellent care in this area. It runs and drives perfect. Owning a car like this is about servicing. It's made for performance. I believe in preventing problems by replacing parts before their expected end of life such as belts. breaks. water pump ect. you know. those things that pop up Sunday afternoon after all the stores close. I only use OEM parts and only consider after market parts if it's a  better design such as the K&N air filter. The glass motor cover is removable. I take it off when washing the car and clean the motor bay. Generally cayman owners do not take off the motor cover unless they hear something's strange. those owner never clean the engine  or remove debris. dirt or dust. This coats the motor and effects temperature. causing wear problems. You won't find any of this on my vehicle. Just think about owners not taking care of the engine bay and you will see why some caymans are priced lower than this one. It's had a very well taken care of life and is a pleasure to drive. Keep your wife or girl out of it. mine can't take the car anywhere without guys approaching her (literal every time and she makes me put gas in it so she doesn't need to stop and deal with the gas pump freaks). Good thing she's a card carrying member of the NRA.
