1971 Corvette. this car started life as a Mille Miglia Red LT1. Sometime around 1977 the cars original motor detonated. the owner at that time elected to build a hot small block to stick in the car. He was running two four high rise on the new motor and just left the hood off.   At some point shortly after the motor rebuild. the car was sitting in the owner's business parking lot when someone decided to take it for a joy ride. Well within a block or two he decided to lite the vette up and was unable to keep the car straight and ended up crashing the car.   The owner then decided to rebuild the car using an Eckler one piece front end. The car was repainted red and terrorized the street for a few more years.

In 2009 the car was purchased as a roller from the longtime owner.  The motor. hood and wiper doors were not included with the car. The new owners decided to paint the car green as it was their favorite color; they installed a 1973 hood to replace the wiper door that was missing.   They installed a new Good wrench 350/270 HP motor. new Craigers with BF Goodrich tires. Chrome side pipes. They also had the original 411 rear end changed out to a more highway friendly 336 gear. Somewhere along the line the car picked up a non-matching Muncie M20 4 spd.   Unfortunately the car was unable to be finished at that time.

The car sat for a couple years. I purchased it a short while back. The green paint is very nice. and since the car was already so far from the original LT1. I decided to paint the Motion paint scheme on the car; it really looks great with the Craigers and side pipes. There are no emblems on the exterior of the car.   Bumper are nice. There are a couple small fiberglass repairs to the nose and both rear corners were the bumpers bolt on. of course can only be seen from the underside. The interior is nice. very nice original door panels. the seats are older leather that were installed years ago. they are showing some age but don't look terrible. Carpet is nice and was replaced recently. no cracks in dash or center console. rear stowage is nice as well. All the gauges work with the exception of the clock. some of the fiber optics is in working order. Odometer does not work but trip does.  The head liner on the passenger side T-top has a crack in the center. Speedo and tach work along with a nice aftermarket am/fm radio. Turn signals and brake lights work as should. There are no horns on the car.  As you can see in the pictures the original tach. center console motor/horsepower sticker and the TI amplifier box are all in place representing the LT1 option. Now of course all those could have been added at some point. but very doubtful. The engine compartment look good. the car runs and drives great. New clutch. throw out and pressure plate.   There was no trim tag on the car when I purchased it. not a big deal to me. The VIN tag is in place as should be.

With all that said. I will say that the gaps on the car are pretty decent. the center of the hood does sit a bit high. the outside corner of the passenger side T-top sits a bit high as well. However nothing to be ashamed of. the old girl gets the looks !!!!  Any questions please email or call 217-415-3782.
