1950 Cadillac Series 61

4dr Sedan 8-cyl. 331cid/160hp 2bbl Everyone knows that the Cadillac was and still is the standard for American luxury. Here is your chance to bid and maybe even win a very rare 1950 Cadillac. I'm not to sure what this car is worth I have had people tell me 12K-20K but as I know very well its only worth how much someone will pay for it. I'm putting this rare classic up for no reserve. This car is in the perfect price range because it's not fully restored and asking 30K+ or a huge rust bucket that you have to start from scratch costing you 25K. This car runs and drives very well. I had a local mechanic shop check it out and they said it didn't need any work done to it mechanically. The windshield and passenger window are cracked. I have had this car in my garage for about a month and it has leaked a little oil out but less then a half pint. I would be surprised if any car from 1950 didn't leak a little though. All the Chrome is there and in good shape except the two on the side of the hood are a little faded. (see pics) The seats don't have any tears in them. The trunk looks very nice as well. This Caddy is very original with only one repaint the same factory color. The gas tank filler is under the left brake light. The spare tire is in the trunk. I was surprised at how quiet she ran down the road. It has a push button start that only works if the key is turned. All the gauges work however due to the age of the car they float a little bit. The radio does not work but all lights do. And the car has the coolest sounding horn ever!
This classic is going up for no reserve but I can end the auction early up to 24 hours before the end for a local buyer or a fair offer. A little history and vin code
For 1950. the Series 61 and 62 were extensively redesigned. with lines that would continue for the next few years. The cars were longer. lower. and looked more solid. The side of the car flowed into the rear fender. where the leading edge was interrupted with an imitation air intake. One-piece curved windshields were introduced. the grille became more massive. and the hood protruded further in the center.
