Current customer rating: (127 votes ) based on1969 Camaro Real Deal Z28 X33 RS Special Paint Code - - Stripe Delete Car
This car was built (11 D) Nov. 1968. prior to GM putting the X code on the cowl tag. See Pictures for the X code marking on the rear package tray. Also the duel exhaust hanger bracket picture for verification.
Car is a Standard Black interior Code 711 car with bucket seats. Car was a non-console car with an original cowl hood and shorter 1968 rear spoiler. Car comes from a garage in PA where it has been stored since 1972 until I purchased it in Nov 2015. It was a complete car minus its original DZ motor and 4 Speed and a few other odds and ends but mainly it was a complete car. The car has a BU coded 12 bolt posi rear end.
Since I have owned the car. I have taken the car completely apart. Media blasted down to bare metal. It needed like most of these cars both rear quarter panels. tail pan. trunk pan. and patch panel in the front pass floor board. All other panels are Original to the car. The car has Zero rust issues remaining.
With the car being Red when I purchased it and at some point in time was repainted two different colors of Yellow and once Black. It was hard to determine what exactly the original color was just by looking. With the Special Paint code I was certain that the original color that was last on the car after media blasting was Black so I Had it repainted the correct 69 Tuxedo Black with the Stripe Delete Option.
The Paint Job was completed in Jan. 2017. as you can see from the pictures it is very nice. Car has been completely cut and buffed. There are minor imperfections in the prep work under the paint. All it needs is put back together.
