1967 Camaro convertible. SS350/RS.     See 80+ photos Here   and a video of it running Here

This car was purchased new at Courtesy Chevrolet in Cincinnati. Ohio in November. 1966. It was kept by the original owner until his death in 2013. then passed to his daughter. I'm listing it for the current owner who is regrettably selling to fund another project.

This is a very well preserved. original and documented car that was repainted in the 1980s. It shows well but has a few small needs. This is a well optioned 350SS model with the RS package. Muncie 4 speed. 12 bolt axle. console. tach and gauges. and power steering.

The first owner. Paul Wright. drove the car frequently. An included receipt shows he racked up 49. 00 miles by 1972. when he took it back to the dealership for installation of motor mount straps mandated by GM under a recall. Oil and spark plug-change stickers in the console show the car reached 90k miles by 1981. and by 1991 Paul had reached almost 132. 00 miles before he started to slow down a little (he was about 70 at the time). It looks like he began fixing up the car in '87 - we found receipts for new dual exhaust. cragar wheels and a Hurst shifter and linkage kit. etc. All these items are still installed on the car. and the odometer currently shows 34. 00 miles. (134. 00 miles).

Around this time the car was repainted in its original color. and some minor rust repaired. The quarter panel skins were replaced. along with some repairs in the wheel wells and trunk extensions. The work is of good quality by 80's standards. but on close inspection the patches are visible in the trunk and inner wheel wells. The paint has held up well. with some minor checking on the hood and lower quarters. but no signs of rust through. It shines well. and would look even better with a careful detailing.   There is a small ding and 2 paint chips on the driver's door. which happened while in storage. A small amount of original paint is included for touch-up.

The engine is original to the car. with matching numbers and correct date and MS suffix code. The Muncie 4 speed and 12 bolt axle appear original and untouched. but we have not had time to clean them off and check the numbers. I'll try to do that before the end of the auction.

Documentation includes original owner's manual packet with warranty booklet and Protect-o-Plate. which matches the cowl tag and engine stampings. as well as the options that are on the car.

The interior is survivor quality. and original except for possibly the carpet. Driver's seat has a couple wear marks as shown in photos. Tach and gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge. Top is older but doesn't show any wear. Driver's door latch is a little sticky. All glass appears original. Electric headlights (used on '67 only) work great.

The chassis is very clean for an Ohio car. with some surface rust towards the rear. The front subframe. core support and body mounts are very clean. Both front floor pans have approximately 12”x6” holes that were covered with sheetmetal and sound deadening back in the 80's. but the rest of the floors have no damage. Spring mounts and rear frame shows no signs of rust through. It appears that maintenance items like suspension components. brake and fuel lines. wheel cylinders. etc were kept up. although the car hasn't seen frequent use for a number of years. The steering box. lines and pitman arm are newer as well.

Under the hood. everything is largely original. The motor retains its original intake and exhaust manifolds. valve covers and distributor. The carburetor appears to be a rebuilt exchange unit. and the radiator may be a later replacement.   The dealer installed motor mount straps are still in place.

Despite having been in storage for several years. the Camaro starts easily and idles well. It shifts very smoothly and the Hurst shifter clicks into place like new. There is a small exhaust leak. but it isn't terribly loud. I have only driven it around the block but it feels pretty tight and doesn't rattle.   The manual drum brakes are stiff and the left front wheel will start to drag if they're applied hard – it will need brakes and a general going over before putting it back on the road. Fuel tank seems clean. and the car doesn't overheat.

I have posted over 80 images to a Flickr account. which can be found here Here . as well a video of the car running and driving on Youtube

The car is located in Cincinnati. zip 45255 (Eastgate/northeastern Cincinnati area) and can be shown by appointment. Questions are welcome.

The owner has placed a reasonable reserve on the car. but is serious about selling it. An immediate deposit of $500 is required at the end of the auction. and the buyer and seller can make arrangements for the final payment and pickup. preferably within 7 days of the end of the auction. Buyer will receive a good Ohio title.   We can work with international buyers but you will be responsible for shipping arrangements.
