RS2000 Mk2 escort custom

I have owned the car since 2007. I will try and be as honest as I can with the description. the car is not in concurs condition. but I think it's a tidy car for a thirty five year old car. the car has been garaged since I have owned it.

Engine it has a 2. 1 pinto. with a big bore head. 285 road/rally cam. vernier cam pulley. running on a set of 45 Weber carbs. it also runs on a Ashley manifold running into a two & half inch complete Ashley system this is like new. All the normal RS running gear.  

Standard 4 speed rs2000 gearbox. running new clutch plate & lighten flywheel.

Suspension: Bilsteins all round. rear are turreted. double with kit on twin cam anti roll bar. panard rod on the rear RS axle. New single leaf springs. normal rs2000 link arms.

Brakes. front vented discs. rear has a rear disc brake conversion complete. please note the 7 inch drums that come as standard will come with the action. the car also has a bais peddle box install. proper ford unit. not manufactured unit.

Rear axle. English axle this comes with a 4. 4 Quafe LSD. the standard diff will also be included in the auction.

Battery is retained in the boot along with a red top fuel pump. this has two spare 7” wheels. total of six wheels with the car as per photo's all near new alloy minilite's. All six tyres are near new with little work.

Interior comes with cloth seats and normal custom trim. rear seat in really good condition. front seats to be fair. if wanted to take to next level would need new fabric. showing wear on the seat shoulders as you get in.

All the fuel lines are run in Goodridge hoses & along with the battery/brake lines they run inside the car.  

Since I have had the car it has been under used and only covered miles to MOT station etc. currently out of MOT but this can be arranged. the car has not moved since the last. car is currently sorn.

With different commitments in my life. unfortunately I no longer have the room or the time to use it.    

The car. as I said above. is thirty five year old. there are a couple of chips on the paint. but is not showing signs of normal rust spots. the car is crying out for a new home & could be taken either way. jump in & have some fun. fast road car. track day. or if wished with little cost take up to another level as a show car.   

The  car has a reserve set at a realistic level. I have seen some rust buckets go for mental money and some pretty good cars asking mental amounts. I need to cover what it stands me & see it go to a good home. I have not advertise it. to ring every last penny out of it.
