You are bidding on a very straight project/driver 1961 356B Super 90 Cabriolet that would be an excellent candidate for complete restoration as it still retains it's original Super 90 engine and the body has factory gaps with good panel fit. nbsp;unkinked original hood and no clips. Has a little filler in center of right door and a tiny bit in left rear quarter panel. Other than those 2 areas the body shows no sign of previous visits to a body shop. Original Color is Ruby Red with Black interior.  The car was repainted once many many years ago in same color of Ruby Red.

Car was delivered with the optional Speedster side trim and chrome Reutter luggage rack . When sighting down each side of the car. the side trim helps to accentuate the smooth flowing curve of this body from front to rear and it's quite apparent when looking at the body that it was never in a bad accident!

As with most open 356's that were driven a lot earlier in life in all kinds of weather. it will need the usual rust repair down low on the chassis to include the floor pans. longitudinal and front closing panels. Also. the battery box has a small hole directly under the battery.

Car runs and drives. stops straight and shifts good. The 741 trans is original to the car as is the Super 90 only rear camber compensating spring. Engine is tired and will need a correct rebuild before driving daily. It does still retain it's original solid shaft Solex carbs. correct Solex wire mesh air cleaners with no breather holes and Super 90 only oil-pickup system that drew lubricant from the sump's full side during hard cornering.

All 4 wheels on the car are dated 9/60 and the spare is dated 4/61. Gas tank is dated 10/60  .

Soft top goes up and down smoothly and latches correctly. Front and back wooden bows are intact and not rotted.

Comes with it's original owner's manual. Super 90 addendum . service booklet . Reutter body maintenance instructions and jack. There's no tool kit as it went missing years ago.

Car has a clear California title registered in my name.
