1972 Ford Escort MK1 Twincam (Lotus) for sale

This is an Australian delivered car dated March 1972. and one of only 883 Twincam Escorts ever built.


The car comes from a collection in Melbourne as the owner is downsizing his collection.  This particular car feature in the May 2016 issue (338) of Unique Cars magazine. as tested by John Bowe. It is currently registered on Victoria Club plates.


The car is very clean as can be seen from the photos. with no rust. solid floors and sills.  Finished in Sunburst Yellow. the striking colour suits the lines of the classic Mk1 Escort shape.  The bodywork is straight and the paint very good on this older restored car.  The engine compartment has recently been treated to a fresh up. with the motor out and detailed. while the engine compartment was resprayed.  The motor is strong and a pure gem.  She starts easily and drives well.  The gearshift is typical of the old Ford boxes. and shifts well.  The drivetrain has no shudders or vibrations and the car is pure joy to drive.


The interior is very neat and requires no work.  The classic 6 dial SVO gauge cluster the giveaway to the car's heritage.  All gauges work as they should.  The car sports a non original Lotus type steering wheel which blends in with the interior very well.


The underside of the car has been cleaned and detailed and presents well as can be seen in the photos.  The exhaust manifold and downpipe has been ceramic coated and will look good for ever.


There really is nothing to spend on this magic little car.  Save for a few non original items. the car will be the talk of any collection or show.  There are very few of these cars available worldwide and highly sought after in the UK.  Buy a motoring legend before its too late!
