Ford Cortina MK1 1500GT Two Door 1966 LHD

I have for sale my 1966 Ford Cortina Mk1 1500GT Two Door (LHD) in beautiful original Black Cherry paintwork. This car has really only had one owner before me and I have now owned her for three and a half years. She was first exported new to Wisconsin USA the owner an Italian gentlemen then retired and took her back to Italy with him whereupon she had a very easy and cherished life. The car has never been welded and certainly doesn't require any. it has all the original panels absolutely no rust and mostly the original paintwork. There are a few odd marks but nothing to detract from the superb overall condition of this unique car.  The car has only covered 58000miles and you only have to look at her to know that this is genuine. The interior is almost perfect with only the tiniest amount of wear on the drivers seat right by the piping so easy repair if you felt it needed it. the rear seat is perfect.  The headlining is perfect. door and rear cards are unmarked. centre console is in extremely good condition. and the dash is excellent with all the gauges working correctly. Also working perfectly are the optional extra hazard warning lights and cigar lighter.  There is a period Motorola radio fitted that has an ipod connection discreetly attached that comes up inside the centre console hooked up to front shelf speakers also hidden away but not screwed or fixed to shelf.  It has had new carpets fitted from Aldridge Trimming and they kindly sewed in the original unmarked ribbed rubber matting (heel mat) on the drivers side.  I have the original three spoke black steering wheel which is in perfect condition however the one fitted is a very good 14" Motolita as seen. Presently fitted are a set of refurbished 5. 5j wide steel wheels with as new 185/70/13 quality tyres.

I have had the head converted to run on unleaded fuel and also a little tweak on the valve seats. I have fitted a complete stainless steel exhaust including the manifold this was supplied by Neil McCarty from 105speed and is a truly quality system and looks the part. nbsp;the exhaust has a nice crisp note as you go through the gears but does not boom or resonate on longer journeys. I could go on and on describing this car with "originality" being the keyword.  

There is a fair amount of history and paperwork with this car mostly in Italian. but included is the original bill of sale showing the extras ordered from new and details of the car that was traded in against it along with the the original dealership warranty.

Drives beautifully. looks fantastic!
