Porsche 944 s2 Convertible

STUNNING RARE PORSCHE 944 S2 CONVERTIBLE

First registered October 1989 this is one of only 16 S2 convertibles produced in 1989 and one of only 2402 S2 convertibles ever produced. (Figures: Porsche Mania).

This car has been well looked after with beautiful Guards Red body work and no accident damage and a quality unmarked soft top roof in excellent condition.

The original 2969cc engine has covered 103000 miles and runs perfectly. the under bonnet presentation is excellent with no oil leaks. The gearbox and back axle are quiet in operation and work perfectly. The original service book has 11 stamps by mainly Porsche specialists; the last service was at 102. 02 miles by Porsche specialists TWG Sports of Peterborough and included all belts changed.

Original Porsche wheels are fitted with enhanced centres and the tyres have plenty of life left in them.

The vehicle has almost 12 months MOT following significant work that included new brake hoses and pipes. new fuel pipes from tank. replacement of PAS oil cooler and new inner CV boots. the car was wax oiled underneath at the same time at a cost of £1500.

All electrics work as they should although the electric windows are a little slow.

The leather interior of the car is striking with the front seats having recently been properly fed. conditioned and recoloured in the original linen cream colour. they now look and smell like new.

All of the original books and manuals are contained in the Porsche folder including the Drivers Manual. Maintenance Record. Porsche Assistance Guide. A pocket Guide to Porsche Ownership and PDI “Drive for Perfection” card.

A Toad Security Alarm is fitted together with what I believe is the original Alpine CD and Radio. all working.

The car looks stunning from all angles and it is easy to forget you are viewing a car that is 24 years old. these are proper drivers cars and whilst very modern in feel are different to drive from today's cars. but less so than most classics.

My Classic Car comprehensive insurance was only £150. details can be supplied to purchaser. Road Tax until September 2013. MOT July 2014.

This is a terrific car and must be one of the best of its type and I am sad to have to sell it.

What Faults:

Very few really. bodily and mechanically the car is very good. and following recent work to the underside the usual suspect areas of these cars have been replaced or repaired. The widows are a little slow but all work. Hood mechanism works perfectly as does the flip up headlights.

Boring Stuff:

I will be advertising the vehicle elsewhere and reserve the right to withdraw from the auction early if the car sells.  Viewing is recommended if only to convince you that you want it even more. if this is not practical I am happy to photograph your specific requirements. I will need proof of insurance if you want to drive it. which I recommend if you are not familiar with these cars. A 10% deposit payable within 3days of the auction closes and cleared balance before collection. Electronic bank transfer being the preferred option.
