1973 Jensen Interceptor III

 

British coachwork. American muscle and Italian design results in “The Gentleman's Express”.   Red exterior. coffee interior.   The third generation Interceptor pairs a Chrysler 440. 7. 2 litre engine with a Torqueflite transmission. so power is abundant and maintenance is relatively easy.

 

This was an original California car and I have kept it garaged for the 12 years I have owned it.   I had it repainted about 6 years ago. The body. engine and transmission are solid.   The car starts right up and runs well.   I had the steering rack rebuilt and upgraded the fans so it runs at even temperature.  I bought the car with the goal of a complete refurbishing. but time slipped away and the interior never got its due and it is time to move on.

 

What works:

No visible rust on car. other than front bumper.

Engine and transmission are solid.

Steering rack rebuilt.

Dual radiator fans keep car running at perfect temperature.

All lights work.

Brand new battery and tires.

Instruments. other than clock. all work.

Power windows.

Dual horn.

Car just passed NY inspection.

 

What doesn't work:

Air conditioning.

Windshield washer.

Clock.

Rear window defroster.

8 track tape.

Power antenna.

 

What needs work:

Interior is serviceable but should be redone.

Windshield has scratches on passenger side (looks to be from wiper running with no blade).

Driver floor pan should be touched up.

Chrome on front bumper needs some restoration.

Side pillar Jensen script missing on driver's side.

Wheels are in good shape but would need restoration if bringing it up to concours quality.
