1965 Lincoln Continental for sale
Current customer rating: (172 votes ) based onOver the years. I have white posted all of the brakes. replaced most of the motors and relays. all of the vacuum lines. and so much more. She is a beautiful driver. The odometer shows 1374 miles. The engine was fully rebuilt at 95K miles. so only has 6300 miles on it. The leather seats and carpeting were all replaced. any most of the chrome has been redone. some twice over the past 45 years. Everything works. including the vacuum door locks. the 6 way power seats. the automatic window vents. the complete top mechanism. the hydraulic variable speed wipers. the power antenna. and the clock keeps perfect time (i had the guts replaced with a quartz system). The AC blows perfect cold air. and the auto drop windows on both back doors work perfectly. She has never been in an accident.
I have had many questions and comments about the car since listing it for sale. And of course price often comes up. If you look at all of the 65 lincolns that have been listed. they almost all show signs of rust. Maybe not on the surface. but when you see pictures of the bottom. or the sides of the engine compartment. This car is truly perfect. Also. suppose you could get one of these other lincolns for $15K or so. You will end up spending at least $30K to $40K with Baker. if not more. New leather seats. carpet. trunk carpet. engine compartment. windows. relays. top. brake lines. AC. engine. transmission. etc. etc. That does not include the paint job. which can be as little as $7500. but more likely $12K. Add it all up. and it is a big number. and will take 6 to 12 months to complete. Mine is ready to drive now. You simply won't get a 65 Lincoln convertible in the condition you want it. for less than $70K.
I have also received many questionable comments about the stereo system. Over the last 40 years. I have put many sound systems in this car. from 8 track. to cassette. and so on. I've also looked at dozens of other 65 Lincolns who have done the same. Why? Because the original radio is AM only. and has two small speakers. When the top is down in this car. it is useless. After years of research. I put this system in. It is perfect. The speakers do not intrude on the passengers. and they keep the original lines and design of the car. That being said. if the buyer wants. I do have 4 original door panels to replace. I can't imagine wanting to remove this system. but it can be done very easily if you decide. Speaking of parts. I have boxes of spare parts. that I am willing to sell as well.
There are two small flaws. I have a few bubbles in the paint on the trunk. and a small worn spot on the white top. The last paint job was 7 years ago.
I live in Philly and can drive this car to the shore easily on a nice summer or fall weekend. The tires are almost new. I have a full size cover for winter storage. and a permanently installed plug in trickle battery charger. Feel free to ask me any questions as I know every inch of this car.
