For sale is a very solid 1949 Cadillac Convertible. All of the necessary parts look to be here and some extras are included. This car was purchased from a family who owned in for over 40 years and it was passed down several times. This car was restored to a show car in the 1980's and was driven regularly until the mid 1990's. After that it was driven occasionally and eventually left untouched for 15 years in an air conditioned facility. It could be gone through mechanically and be brought up to driver condition reasonably or completely restored from the ground up.  
Exterior - The paint looks like it could be wet sanded and buffed for a moderate shine. The chrome is not in good condition and will need repair. There are no lenses for the front parking lights. The tires will need to be replaced from age and the wheels are serviceable. There is some paint peeling under the passenger's door and some minor scratches in a few spots. I was unable to find any filler on this car. It is 100% sheet metal and there is no rust other than minor surface rust pictured. The convertible top is down and looks to be in OK condition but it will not raise. The glass is in great condition and there are no cracks anywhere.  
Interior - The interior is red leather and is in pretty nice usable condition. There are no tears. burns or any peeling. There are some very minor wrinkles and age cracks. The door panels are in the back seat and are in OK condition. The dash pas has no cracks and the paint on the dash looks nice. All of the gauges are intact and in very nice condition. It looks like it has power windows. power steering and power seats.
Mechanicals - The engine will turn over by hand but has not been started since we removed it from storage. All of the parts are still installed and nothing has been removed. The engine number does NOT match the VIN number as far as we can tell. It looks like the engine number starts with a 50 not a 49. There are no leaks from the transmission or rear end either. The car rolls easily and the brakes are not locked up. The brakes do engage with effort when rolled down hill.
