vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this numbers matching 1975 Corvette in excellent condition and with only 89. 51 original miles. This Corvette looks fantastic. runs great. and is an excellent driver. The car is totally solid with nice lines and no rust issues. We purchased this Corvette from the second owner who had owned the car since July of 1984.

The Dark Red over Black Vinyl is a beautiful color combination and looks great on the car. It is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag. which is pictured below. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Corvette that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 Corvettes is strong right now and on the rise. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car. but also the clear Ohio title. pictured below. showing the mileage as "Actual. " Please peruse all of the photos. the extensive list of numbers. video. and information below to get a true sense of how nice and clean this Corvette really is.

As a side note. this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.   We hand pick each car after careful inspection.   Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.   We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.   Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.   We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.   If you have a question about the Corvette. just give us a call.

numbers

Please note when checking the numbers on any Corvette that not only do the correct stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts. but all of the dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For example. all of the dates for the individual engine components and the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could be assembled. Most of the parts I checked follow this rule and are dated correctly.

item number description* VIN 1Z37J5S406042 The first digit. "1. quot; indicated the Chevrolet division of GM. The "Z" is the series. Corvette. The "37" is the body style. 2-door sport coupe. The last five digits are a sequence number so this is the 6. 42nd Corvette made for 1975. Body Build Date B26 "B" corresponds to November. and "26" is the twenty-sixth day of the month meaning this Corvette's body build date is November 26. 1974. Engine Code VII21 "V" means the engine was build in the Flint. MI plant.   The "II" is the eleventh month of year and the "21" is the twenty-first day of the month meaning the engine was assembled on November 21. 1974.   This is correct as it precedes the build date of the car. Suffix Code CHB This means the motor was intended for an L48 Corvette with an automatic transmission and without California emissions. which is correct for this car. Engine VIN Stamping 406042 The last 6 digits of the car's VIN. 406042. are stamped on the engine pad meaning this engine is original to this car. Intake Manifold Casting Number 346249 The intake manifold has the correct 346249 casting number. which was only used in 1980. Intake Manifold Casting Date K 19 4 "K" is November. "19" is the nineteenth day of the month. and "4" is the last digit of the calendar year so the intake manifold was cast on November 19. 1974. Distributor 1112888 The distributor is original and correct for a 1975 Corvette with an automatic transmission and non-California specs with a 1112888 stamping. Distributor Date Code 4 L 8 The "4" is the last digit of the calendar year. the "L" denotes November. and "8" is the eighth day of the month meaning the distributor was made on November 8. 1974. This is correct as it predates the assembly date of the engine. Alternator Date Code 4 G 22 The "4" is the last digit of the calendar year. the "G" denotes July. and "22" is the twenty-second day of the month meaning the alternator was made on July 22. 1974. This is correct as it predates the assembly date of the engine. Carburetor 17080204 The "170" means the carb was produced after 1976. The fourth digit. "5. quot; means the carb was built in the 1976 - 1979 production run. The fifth digit. "9. quot; means it was built for the 1979 model year. The six digit. "2. quot; indicates that it is a 4BBL carb. The seventh digit. "2. quot; means is was built for the Chevrolet division of GM. The last digit. condition

Exterior

The Dark Red exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss. deep shine. and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely as do the hood and headlights and the car exhibits good body panel fit overall. The aluminum wheels are in beautiful condition with a brilliant finish. The tires have about 90% tread let and are correctly sized 225/70R15. There are a few blemishes visible in the a photos and a few that were too tiny to show up in pictures. but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car. it is very clean and this Corvette has absolutely NO RUST ISSUES. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and I have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield. which are the two most notorious spots for rust on a C3 Corvette.

The car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The Black Vinyl interior in this Corvette is in spectacular original condition. The seats are in excellent condition with no rips. split seams. or excessive wear. They are not overly worn in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins. not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet is great condition with no stains. This includes the rear carpet. which is often neglected. There are fwe spots of wear in the carpet. but they are in area that are covered by the floor mats. The door panels are in good shape and. unlike many Corvettes of this age. they fit well and tight to the door they do have a few crack which should be visible in the photos. The door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console look awesome with no cracks or sun fading. The jack and jack handle are still with the car. stored correctly behind the passenger seat. and pictured below showing the original decals on the compartment lid. The spare is also still with the car. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes. Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this almost all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the low original mileage.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in great mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time and runs well. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 65mph. shifting through all the gears. braking to stoplight. and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes were recently serviced. They are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The engine compartment is beautifully clean. detailed. and correct with the upper ignition shielding in place.

The radio works as do all the exterior lights. horn. and wipers. The blower works on all speeds. The a/c also works and blows cold. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. which works intermittently. The vacuum system for the headlights works correctly. Also. the headlights go up properly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. Their complete operation form both switches can be viewed in the video below. The power locks work on the passenger door. but not the driver's door. This Corvette now has true dual exhaust with no catalytic converter and a very healthy exhaust tone. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car. especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day

The car runs and drives as well as it looks.

Overall Condition

Overall. this 1975 Corvette is in magnificent driver condition. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing. and as any buyer can see this Corvette is extremely correct. The originality. the beautiful and desirable original color combination. and the great extent to which the numbers match make this car especially important and hard to duplicate. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is apparent that the vehicle has been well cared for by its previous owners. The prices of C3 Corvettes have increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
