MERCEDES 280 SE 3. 5
Selling my beautiful Mercedes SE 280 due to lack of time to complete and finish her. I have spent a fortune on this car and she drives amazingly. It is not a rust bucket as I spent a long time looking for a solid car but due to work commitments I cannot finish her to the standard it deserves. Basically it just needs the body doing and spraying. All the chrome is there and is in very good condition. The interior is in very good condition. These cars are getting quite rare and with a little bit of work this car could be a simple fix. One of these cars completely restored go for £20K plus. Every time I drive this car I smile as it gets so much attention a true classic. It sits all day doing 70 on the motor way and never misses a heart beat. this is due to the new electronic programmable ECU I had fitted ( Mega Squirt). I have all the original parts also if required. But this helps the car to drive like a modern car.

The car has 59K on the clock.  
It is mechanically sound. drives like a dream.
It has been converted to electronic points and a programable ECU ( Mega Squirt system). Better MPG. start up and more power.
Original polished Wheel covers as seen in the pictures.
4 new tyres.
New breaks all the way round and hoses.
Historical tax so no charge.
Solid car structural sound.
Has been serviced in April. oil. plugs. filters. etc.
Very good chrome work all round none missing.
Long MOT.
Very clean interior.
Front wings are solid.
All electrics work.
Bad Points.
There is  rust on the bottom of passenger front and rear door.  
Two rust spots on the boot lid about an inch in diameter.
Bonnet has tiny blemishes.
Roof has a few blemishes.
Sun roof some times works. Electrical connection I believe.

Finished in original Silver with Navy Blue Tex interior this 280SE. no structural rust.


This Mercedes-Benz 280SE saloon is the sought after model fitted with the 3. 5 litre V8 engine coupled to the four speed automatic gearbox. I believe the mileage to be correct although this has not been tested and the car unfortunately has no provenance documents or handbook. /span> this is reflected in the starting price. The history of the car could be investigated via the usual routes.

A little history of the model:

The first "S-class" Mercedes arrived in 1968 in the form of the 280S and 280SE which were large comfortable sports saloons offering powerful touring capabilities and luxurious interiors with space to seat five occupants. Known as W108/109 models. they were constructed on 108 inch wheelbase and the new S-Class saloons were much heavier than earlier models. The styling was updated using a thoroughly modern design featuring the attractive stacked layout of the headlights which was popular during the period. Although the 280 was usually powered by a 2. 8 litre straight six engine. Mercedes-Benz rather confusingly added a V8 engined 280SE to the model range. The 280SE 3. 5 had a 3. 5 L V8 engine and came with both automatic and manual transmission and power steering.
