Here is my restored 1958 Isetta for sale. It was originally won in a supermarket opening in 1959 and owned by 3 generations of the same family until I bought it 28 years ago. The mileage recorded (5. 06 today) is genuine. Many photos are available of the restoration undertaken about 10 years ago. but to summarize. the body was removed and media blasted. primered with a zinc-rich primer and then the original (and somewhat rare) color of Birch Green was applied. The underside of the car is as nice and as well-prepared as the top side. There is no undercoating applied to the body.
The engine was treated to a new set of rings and the valves were lapped in at that time. The engine. transmission and final drive were cleaned to original condition; not over-polished. The frame was ground and wire brushed and re-coated in black as were the suspension components. The brake system was renewed. The car runs and drives. shifts and stops as it should. All of the electrical items work as intended including the Dynastart and voltage regulator which are all original to the car.
The cardboard interior panels are gray. but are not embossed like the originals. The vinyl seat cover is similar but not exactly the same as the original. You will note that the seat cushions are padded with the original coconut fiber. Over the vinyl seat cover I have added a plaid cloth cover which I think nicely complements the car's colors. Of course it is easily removable.  Other than the passenger grab handle. this car came with no options. I have added an aftermarket stainless steel rear luggage rack to make an attempt at usefulness.  I have recently added a reproduction rear bumper. but otherwise all hard parts are original.
I am offering the car with what I believe is a reasonable reserve price. but I will not disclose it during the auction.
I reserve the right to cancel any bid. especially from bidders with very few feedbacks or any negative feedback unless the bidder send me a note via eBay to explain the situation. I don't want my auction hijacked by demented hobbyists or scammers.
I will accept a $500 deposit by PayPal with the balance to be settled in an agreed method with wire transfer being preferred.
Of course it will be the buyer's obligation to collect the car at its current location close to Pittsburgh. PA.
