This 1958 series II is the first year of the series II.   This body style and truck was built for the Canadian market in that it has the extremely rare one-piece doors. This truck was originally installed with the 2-litre diesel and this engine is very rare today. After spending considerable time and money. the engine was operating smoothly and with great confidence as a daily driving truck. however. we found that the 2-litre was under powered for todays motoring on the highway as 45 to 50 mph was about maximum.   The owner made the decision with us to convert the truck to gas and we completed the installation of a new Rovers North rebuilt engine (2015 so actually less than 1000 miles on the new engine).   We also added a Fairey overdrive and a set of silky smooth Warn M 11 free wheeling hubs. As a result. this 1958 Series ll is now a historic. yet modern Rover that can easily operate at 60-70 mph highway. with strong acceleration for todays driving conditions.

  

This trucks history is known. as it was purchased in Canada and then was sold to a vineyard in northern California. where it spent most of its life.   It was sold to a collector in Minneapolis and then to a collector in Charlotte N. C.   This truck has only covered 28000 original miles on the diesel and less than a 1000 on the new gas engine.   All of the production line chalk marks are still on the original frame.   I have over 35 years of experience with these trucks and this is one of the best I have ever seen. We recently removed all of the galvanize trim for the owner and had it re-galvanized and re-installed and this really adds to the overall detail. We also installed noise reduction hood insulation. new rear and front seats. new rubber mats. etc.   The tires are new and the rims have been primed and repainted.   The truck comes with both the installed 2. 25 gas engine and because of its rarity. we are selling the original mounted 2-litre as well and the conversion was done in such a way as it can be converted back. if desired.   We also have rare original handbook and Heritage document.
