SELLER REMARKS

Oldsmobile fans rejoice. the mighty 442 has reached iconic status as the rest of the world wakes up and says. "Holy cow. THAT'S an Oldsmobile?!?" This superb 1970 442 W-30 tribute delivers the same bottomless reserves of torque. the same hyper-aggressive look. and the same upscale interior as an original. all for thousands less. This is one case where you can have your cake and eat it. too.

Personally. I dig the oddball colors. Sure. there are guys out there who inevitably fall for the red cars. but for me. cars like this code 58 Burnished Gold are what made the muscle car era so cool. It's dressed to the nines. but doesn't need bright paint to make its point. although the big hood scoops. deck lid spoiler. and bright red inner fenders do a pretty good job of being eye-candy. Finish work is quite good. quite worthy of the name and the authentic car's skyrocketing value. and few people will argue that the Cutlass wasn't the best-looking of the A-body cousins. Correct 442 stripes were installed. along with reproduction W-30 badges on the fenders. and all the chrome sparkles from a fresh trip to the plater's. A notched rear bumper is a big-block-only feature that's correct on this car. and those massive hood scoops can probably swallow a crow.

As a personal luxury car. the 442 gets all the good stuff inside. including handsomely styled buckets and a center console. The button-tufted seats are accurate reproductions of the original look. and carry the newly-mandated headrests that give them a finished look. The dash will look familiar to anyone who's driven an Olds of this vintage. complete with stainless-faced instruments and burled walnut fascia pieces. The lone deviations from stock are the VDO tach on the steering column and auxiliary gauges under the dash. but given the investment in performance hardware. it's not surprising. A Hurst shifter manages the TH400 3-speed automatic and permits manual shifting on the fly. and an AM/FM/cassette radio allows some modern music in your vintage muscle. Even the trunk is neatly finished with a reproduction mat. zero rust. and a matching full-sized Rally II wheel and jack assembly.

The 442's claim to fame (as well as the W-30). was torque and lots of it. Rebuilt beyond stock specs. this one now carries upgrades like an Edelbrock intake. Holley Street Avenger carb. and long-tube headers. It is a correct 396021F 455 cubic inch big block. and it looks flat-out awesome parked between those bright red inner fenders. The chrome valve covers and air cleaner wear big advertisements for the big engine. and there's Oldsmobile Gold down there somewhere. A new dual exhaust system with crossover pipe and Flowmaster mufflers sounds downright threatening at idle. which rises to a banshee wail at speed. There's no rust under there. but it's not detailed for show so you shouldn't be afraid to drive it every chance you get. Color-matched Olds Rally II wheels with brightly polished trim rings wear new 225/70/14 BFGoodrich radials that fit right and look great.

This car also includes all the original A/C components in the trunk. so you can upgrade it down the road. A stunning performance machine. and only you will know what a huge bargain it really is. Call today!
