Logged as the 1. 87th 1966 model year Tiger built. Rootes used the 1. 57th 1966 Tiger body shell for this car's build-up. one of very few using this beautiful color. Mediterranean Blue (Rootes 100). Reported by Jensen Motors Ltd. to be one of ten built on Friday 18 March 1966. Only five of those are known to have survived according to the Tiger Registry. For the statisticians out there the original engine was Ford's 5. 69th C4PZ-6001-CF unit. The numbering was determined by subtracting 1. 00 and adding one (the numbering started at 1. 00). The original gearbox was the 6. 01st Top Loader. and the rear was the 5. 30th Salisbury DANA 44. shipped from DANA in January 1966.
The car currently has a fresh 289 engine and HEH-CF wide ratio gearbox installed. The story I was told was that these came from a terminally rusty Tiger Mk2. though I have no way of verifying the truth to that story. Currently installed on the 289 is a bolt-on FAST EZ-EFI fuel injection system. which is arguably the best thing one can do to these engines to make these cars very drivable. to improve gas mileage. reliability. performance and cleaner exhaust. Self tuning (all you need to do is set the timing and drive. No laptop needed as it has its own handheld interface. No irreversible modifications were necessary to install this and it can't be seen under the original air cleaner without close scrutiny. Starts up immediately and runs well. The good original engine is complete with intake and Holley 465 cfm carburetor on a rolling stand. and original transmission is safely crated in a wooden crate. Both in a very dry garage together with the car.
There still are few things that need to be done to the car after the paint job. like installing a few weather seals. and bits of trim etc. . but really few and very minor. All of what I know to be needed would come with the car. I'm talking about installing a few weather seals and things like that. Please contact me to discuss your interest in this rare and appreciating car. Serious offers will be seriously considered! I believe this is likely one of the best examples of these cars left out there. Since this car is pushing 50 years old. it is sold as-is. where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer solely responsible for arranging and paying for shipment.
