As I approach my 70th birthday. I have decided (with my wife's ever-so-thoughtful guidance) to relinquish my last classic. my pride & joy. 1965 Mustang.   I'll still have my 2007 Shelby GT-500 with 3500 original miles on it to tinker with. but the car show days are over.
All indications are that I'm only the third owner of this 65 with a production date of October 26. 1964.   The car has one of the original dash plates that Ford dealers installed as a reward for those buyers waiting patiently for their new 65 Mustang.   The car has 88865 original miles on it and is a 289V8 with an original Autolite 2-barrel carb (carb was rebuilt 10/25/13).   The mileage may differ at the time the car is sold as I'm still doing some cruise-ins with the Route 66 Cruisers.   On 9/17/16 this car took first place in its class for the 2016 Route 66 Cruisers Annual Car Show and placed first in its class in two other car shows as well last year.
The C4 automatic was rebuilt at 88210 miles.   I'm almost certain every inch of this car has been gone over the last several years and I know it has been a labor of love for me.   The car has a brand new National Parts Depot OEM GT dual exhaust system.   The power steering pump and alternator were replaced at 88388 miles.   The battery is the OEM Autolite look-alike sealed unit from CJ Pony Parts.   All five tires were installed last year and are the BF Goodrich dual redlines from Coker Tire.   All five rims were also installed last year and are the Scott Drake 14" styled steel wheels.   All exterior chrome/stainless is either new or has been repolished and the vast majority of the interior trim has been upgraded with Scott Drake accessories to include the rally pac. steering wheel. steering wheel horn ring. door handles. seat trim. sill moldings. dash bezel. dash knobs. etc.   All dash lights have been converted to LED.   Even the working factory air conditioner bezel was rechromed (a $400. 00 job).   All electrical/mechanical systems are working properly.   The Pony seats are brand new TMI seat covers. seat foam and door panels from CJ Pony Parts.   The Rangoon Red exterior paint is outstanding and the black vinyl top is perfect.   Absolutely no visible rust on this classic as it is garaged and covered 100% of the time.   The only time it is driven is for perfect weather car shows and cruise-ins.  
Obviously. there is no way to list all that has been done to this car and what it has to offer but I'll attempt to update this listing as I think of new things.   For now. all I can say is that this is one of the finest 65 Mustangs out there and is a real head-turner and show stopper.   It needs absolutely nothing and is ready to be taken to your car show on day one.
