This 1949 Ford Woody Wagon is everything you love about classics in one vehicle. It has the iconic '49 Ford styling. classic wood sides. and cool Flathead V8 under the hood. So the desirability of this one goes beyond just its extreme rarity.


The bullet-nose of the new-for-1949 Fords is now a thing of legend. So to have one look this good tells you there was a serious investment in care and restoration. Plus. everything from the big chrome bumpers to the delicate hood ornament shine like a mirror. We all love the woody wagons. and when they're all dressed in gloss black like this there just seems to be a great air of sophistication. and that's exactly what this premium restoration was aiming for. Cars like this were reserved for the well-heeled customers and luxury hotels. In fact. it was the most expensive car on Ford's books in '49. which is why they are also rare. Less than 1 out of every 35 Fords produced that year was a two-door station wagon. This one still reflects its high society upbringing quite nicely today with premium features like the full whitewall tires. dual spotlights. artful luggage rack. and rear-mounted spare that looks a bit like a Continental kit.


The original idea of a station wagon was to ferry hotel passengers to and from the train station. and so this one still has plenty of space to carry everyone thanks to three rows of seating. Just like the exterior. the tan on the seats and the brown carpeting appear quite correct. But once again. it's the lumber that steals the show. The one-piece side panels are held in by the correct bright stainless bolts. and all this wood makes the interior feel like a log cabin. While this one has a true old-world atmosphere. when you sit behind the wheel there is a different kind of vintage feeling. Style was becoming a priority again in post-war America. and so Ford built a fashionable dashboard that's a perfect piece of art deco. And it has everything you want on display form the original-style AM radio to the Magic Air heater box for a true 1940s feeling.


The 239 cubic-inch flathead V8 looks great in the engine bay with the big red bock radiating from the dark black fenders. In this neat little woody it provides a wonderful punch and a great soundtrack. The engine bay is nicely detailed with the correct oil-bath air cleaner. and the radiator hoses are proper reproductions that won't sag. The three-speed manual transmission shifts easily. and still feels quick around town no mater if you're carrying surfboards or a carload of passengers. This one keeps its authenticity right down color-matched steel wheels with shiny Ford hubcaps. so driving it is like a true time machine.

We file all the necessary documents for export. deliver the car to a US port. secure it in containers and board an ocean carrier. We can land a vehicle to any port worldwide handling container traffic. We export cars regularly and are familiar with export requirements. You. or your agent. are responsible for Custom clearing the vehicle and registration in your own country.
