Original 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS350

Unique original 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS350. for sale. €64500. I've owned this Camaro for 26 years. I bought it here in Denmark as the 3rd owner. I bought it because it was so original. also in the engine room. and had a red interior. It's a euro spec car. speedo and odometer is in km. not miles. front discs were standard and the bottom is partly coated against rust. The odometer showed 91000 km when I bought it in 1987. and I'm pretty sure it's only 91000. not 191000. Currently the odometer shows 04000. meaning 104000 km (65000 miles). I spent 10 years restoring this car. It was totally dismantled. the body and frame etc. sandblasted. Pictures available. All wear parts were replaced. I could list all the new parts and all the actions. but it would take too long. If you want to know more. please contact me.

 Why is this Camaro unique? It's the most original 1st generation Camaro I've ever seen. The problem with other so-called original cars is that they are always slightly “improved”. You can always spot 2-3 things that the owner/builder has “improved” upon. It's very tempting to improve the car's performance. but when you do that you lose originality. I've managed to stay focused on originality when doing the restoration. I never took the ”improved” solution. nor the ”easier” solution. I always took the original solution.

Some examples: 

-The front discs on 67-68 Camaros are two-piece. which when I restored it they were not manufactured anymore. the one-piece design from 69 can be used. But even though these discs are invisible behind the wheel. I looked for used two-piece discs for 3 years before I found some with a proper thickness (it was before ebay existed)

-Log type exhausts. calipers etc. have not been painted. they have the “intended” rusty surface

-It has the dealer-installed safety wiring to avoid engine movement if the left engine mount failed

 Note that the car is not 100% show quality. E. g. the valve covers and airfilter top are the originals with the original chrome. I could have had them rechromed. but I preferred to shine them up and live with the imperfections. to show that they were original. Also the bumpers are not 100% perfect chrome if you look real close. but they're original and better in my mind than what you can buy. The windshield has a small stone chip.

 Of interesting equipment I can mention: Original SS350 car. not just badges | AM/FM radio | Working clock on floor | Engine room totally original. no tuning parts added. nothing original removed | Original wire strap from front suspension to engine. in case of engine mount failure | Seat belts. including shoulder belt | Etc.

 So if you're tired of looking at so-called original cars with headers. Holleys. big stereos and speaker holes in the doors. then this one is for you. This is an honest car. not pretending to be perfect. but as original as possible.
