This is the last of my collection. my favorite car has to go. The car is a 1961 Starfire convertible. In 1961. it was a mid year release designed by GM to compete with the 4 seat T-bird. It's based on the Super 88 chasis. They made only convertibles in 1961 with a production run around 7500. and in 1962 they followed with coupes as well as convertibles. The car has the big "Rocket 8" a 394 CID V8 with a 10:1 compression ratio. However it is much more like a luxury car than a sport car. The car has been garaged all the time since I have owned it and there is no rust anywhere that I can see. I have maintenance records going back to the original purchase as well as a hard-bound service manual for 1961 Oldsmobile. I'll include a custom professional grade car cover made to fit this car. I also have some spare parts I've accumulated over the years I'll include also. (shocks. gaskets. decals. top hold down bracket. and other misc. ) This is a nice car for a half-century old vehicle. By no means a #1 but probably somewhere between a 2 and a 3 based on the Old Car Price Guide categories. As far as condition. The top is like new and you can actually see through the rear window. in contrast with most old convertibles. It does go up and down electrically. The Power antenna goes up and down also. Paint is enamel and is good to excellent. no serious chips visable. Interior is not original but is leather and was done in the same pattern as the original by an extremely capable Upholstery shop in California before the car came to Idaho. The carpet and dash were done at the same time so the car looks new inside. I'm the 3rd owner of this car I acquired in the mid 1970's. The Second owner had some mechanical work done such as engine and transmission overhaul and I had the interior work done. $1500. 00 non-refundable deposit will be required within 48 hours of close of auction via paypal and a check certified by a US or Canadian Bank or wire transfer or cash in persion within 10 days of auction close.
