1971 Unique and highly modified Mini Clubman for saleNow affectionately known as Darth!
I was followed to a Mini show a few years ago and the people who followed me there commented on the rear profile and said that it looked like Darth Vader's helmet (!) and the name stuck.
It started life as a white automatic but underwent a radical rebuild around 1992/3. All the body work has been done with steel sheet. no fiberglass here!
It has been fully de-seamed apart from the roof. The doors have been re-skimmed in aluminium and have had new interior and exterior handles fitted. The boot is a mark II lid and has had the numberplate light removed. the plate illumination now comes from 2 LED lit bolts (MOT passed).
The fuel filler hole has been filled in as well. the fuel filler is now accessed by opening the boot.
The rear seat and companion bins have been cut out to save weight.
It has the classic 3 clock dash with a 120 mph speedometer showing 71672 miles (unverified)
The seats are Mamba buckets on universal subframes. fitted with 4 point harnesses secured to the rear parcel shelf.
I was lucky enough to find a genuine BL new "old stock" front grille so the front looks fab.
There are new MWS Minilight wheels and Continental tyres all round. 7JJ x 13's on the front and 8JJ x 13's on the rear. The wheels are in as new condition except the nearside rear which I accidentally clipped a while ago. Only a small inch long graze easily refurbished.  
The engine is a 1275GT thick flange block which has been bored out to 1293cc.
Runs a single 1 3/4 S. U. card ported and flowed to match the inlet manifold.
The head is a 12G940 11 stud head stage 4 ported. 37mm inlet and 31mm exhaust valves with bronze guides and an approx 11-1 comp ratio.
Metro turbo 4 pot front brake calipers with EBC vented "Spotties" discs with EBC green stuff pads. Cooper S rear drums with EBC shoes.
The Mini racing Legend Tom Airey has tuned this car on several occasions and recently got it up to 110bhp running on super unleaded with Millers VSPe Power Plus additive.
The car is currently on SORNMOT'd until March 8th 2014There is a large history file to go with the car as well as the photos taken of the modifications. I will accept cheques or bankers draft or bank transfer. Keys will only be released on confirmation of cleared funds in my account. I am open to sensible offers. please contact me if you want any more info. this is a reluctant sale. but it must go. This is now up for sale for the last time this year. I have added some more pics to cover the interior. If it doesn't go this time he will stay in the garage till show season next yearI have only done 297 miles in the last 16 months and it's a shame to leave a car like this in the garage
