Beautiful 1986 944 turbo. Stunning paint. solid 8. 75. some road rash on mirrors but front is very clean. the rest of the car speaks for itself in the pictures.  The car has all new Stone Guards. done so well you can't even see them.
New Engine. less than 3k miles. built by JAB Racing.  Those of you Rennlist will know the car and the guys who built it.  They have built several engines for rennlisters and some of you will recognize the track car in one of the pictures that they built and campaigned at DE events for many years.
Highlights:  New motor. with Mahle Iron coated (ferroprint) pistons.  Alusil block work done at Duffin Engine of San Antonio TX.  All new bearings. seals. o-rings. gaskets. and Cometic head gasket.  New water pump. thermostats. belts. and hoses.  Timing belt was just retentioned.  VR1 Racing oil 20/50.  1986 LSD transaxle. w/short shift kit and cooler.  New rear axle assemblies installed. not rebuilt.  Porsche coolant and distilled water used in cooling system. the car runs extremely cool. mostly stayin on the first white line after full warm up.  We have built 4 complete engines with either Lindsey or Vitesse components. just like this one.  The pistons were measured. 5mm from the bottom of the skirt and we used . 015" or . 381mm clearance; as we have with all the engines we've built.   While this is larger than the orginial factory clearance of . 20mm or . 007". the Mahle slipper skirt pistons. with Iron Ferroprint coating. have a bit more expansion than the factory Mahle Pistons with Iron Ferrostan coating.  Ferrostan is now illegal to manufacture.  The . 015" was recommended by Mahle direct.
LR stage II head. LR II intercooler. LR fuel rail. LR dual port wastegate. LR 2 pc crossover pipe (heat wrapped under oil pan for heat control).  Griffiths A/C condensor and compressor. Koni suspension: Koni adjustable inserts up front. adjustable on top.  Rear is Koni coilover with torsion bars removed.  500 and 400 lb spring rates.  968 sway bars front and rear.  The KLA strut brace is easily removed. I actually put it on because it was standing in the corner of my garage.
Working:  A/C. heat. power windows and mirrors. sunroof works properly in all stages. rear wiper. cruise control. clock. and all gauges.  968 Club Sport steering wheel and blinkers cancel as they should.  New Porsche DASH. in Porsche box 10 years ago. along with new leather front seats; NO dash cracks nor bolster wear on the driver seat.  The glove box arms are intact and hold.  As you can see. perforated leather was not used but the seats are soft and the drivers is power.  New seat knobs were also just installed for the release of the seat for backseat access.
Not Working; remote reat hatch release - open with key.  No tool kit or compressor. that's it.
This is great running. perfect idling car. starts every time. and that is now pretty much a weekend toy.  It handles and performs rock solid every day.  It was built to drive with a great fun factor involved.  For performance. along with the items listed above. a Vitesse Racing Stage II complete kit. with SMT6 piggyback in the glove box.  The car will come with laptop computer and software CD for the new owner.  The car presently has boost set at 16psi and is running perfect.  It has 17" replica turbo twist with goodyear F1 tires.  It has a Speed Force 3" full S. S. exhaust.  A similar engine build that we did. just like this. went to a guy in Seattle WA and passed SMOG there with flying colors.  There is an A/F ratio gauge installed where the map pocket is.  The car probably has around 300 rwhp and 315 lbs of torque. based on the VR II kit and running 16 psi of boost.  There is an A pillar dual gauge installed that was done with a group buy on rennlist - housing a boost/vac and fuel pressure gauge and it is does light up with dash lights.
It still has the original stereo and cassette holders under the arm rest. So. you Audiophiles. yes it will need a stereo and speakers.  Front end bra and mirror bra for buyers trip home.
Comes with many extra new parts. oil filters. and a box of several used parts if you want.  Also. comes with a complete set of Porsche 944 Shop Manuals. Turbo and 944 supplement parts and torque factory book.  Fresh oil and transaxle oil change.
Thanks for looking.  A few more pictures of other engines built for the cars pictured at the end of the pictures.  I'm 58. it was built to drive. to have fun with. and hopefully not to work on for a long time.  Tinker. yes. hard maintenance work - no.   It is modified but not by a kid but by someone who has done quite a few of these engines and cars. from street to track.  It's not a Pristine 1989 944 turbo. with low miles for $25K+ dollars.  It is a realistic. reliable. fun toy. that's it.  Great engine. great suspension. great paint and interior.
