Hello and welcome to the auction of my Bond bug 700E.

I bought this car in 2005 and spent the next 4 years restoring it to a very high standard.

I carried out a full nut and bolt rebuild of this car and many thousands of pounds have been spent getting the car to its present condition.

I had wanted one of these cars for a long time and never intended to sell it . I even reset the millage on the speedometer to zero .

I have done 3500 miles in the car and there was 50000 miles on the clock before I reset it.

I did use the bug for a few years with the 700cc engine but when that developed problems I fitted an 850 with matching gearbox.

The bug drives very well . holds the road good and is great fun.

The original chassis was very rusty and was replaced by a converted reliant robin chassis which is the norm .

Here is a list of some of the jobs done to the car. /p>

fully reconditioned 850cc engine with new pistons and liners ( cost almost £1000 )  recon steering box . new kingpin assembly  . renovated Dunlop alloys with new tyres . new adjustable GAZ rear shock absorbers . professionally made seat covers . side screens . door bottoms & engine cover. new headlights. heater matrix. lots of parts zinc plated . stainless fasteners. all steels replaced in canopy and body while fibreglass work carried out. alternator conversion . new windscreen . new half shaft bearings & seals . front hub bearings and the list goes on and on.

This car was exported when new and came back to this country some 3 years later so was registered for the first time in this country on am N plate but because the age of the car can be proven by the vin plate it qualifies as an historic vehicle so is TAX EXEMPT.

As with all fibre glass cars there are some blemishes to the body work and my car is no exception . in some areas there is some blistering of the gell coat which is very minor and would not show up in a picture very well.

This bug has been to lots of vintage car rallys over the years and at a bond bug rally in 2010 it won 2nd best bug and in 2011 it won 1st place out of 20+ bugs.

The car does also have a hot starting problem which is not to bad if you follow a simple procedure.

I. e been as honest as I can in my listing and viewing of the car can be arranged.
