I just bought the car from a local car restorer/paint man. Billy. His grandfather bought the car new. it stayed in the family until 2006 when he bought it from his uncle. HOW LONG HAS THE CAR BEEN RESTORED? Billy restored the car in late 2001 and early 2002. He said the car had less than 500 miles on it. The paint was done then. it looks like it was done last month. The engine and transmission was done at that time. HOW IS THE BODY? Billy said it was al original panels and never been in a accident as far as he knew. I see no rust on the body. the floors and under side look very solid. HOW IS THE PAINT? The color is vintage burgundy metallic. It is straight and slick. nice paint. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Good. but the drivers seat and door panels have minor wrinkles. no hole or worn places. Carpet and headliner are very good. HOW IS THE ENGINE? Code says its a 289 cubic inch. It runs sweet and detailed good. I hear no knocks or unwanted rattles. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Its a good shifting C4 automatic. HOW IS THE GLASS? All the glass is good. windshield clear with no wiper marks. I did notice very minor marks on one side glass. HOW IS THE CHROME? Bumper rechromed and nice. front fender spears rechromed. gill nice with a couple of blemishes. front to rear side stainless very nice. the panels at the lower side of the top have pitting. HOW ARE THE WHEELS AND TIRES? Nice American Racing wheels with tires with lots of tread wear left. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! TURN SIGNALS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! HORN NOT WORKING! SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GAS GAUGE WORKS. but read low! DOME LIGHT NOT WORKING! RADIO IS MOUNTED IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT! HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? It drive real good. HOW DOES THE CAR STOP? CAN I DRIVE THE CAR HOME? I never recommend driving a Classic Car home on a long trip. Reason being. I only do short test drives like a garage would. the cars are inventory not my personal car I have owned for years and learned to trust.
