ok here goes. my grandfather was a landowner. farmer of sorts and a total petrol head. he owned many rare and exotic cars in his life but this is the one that stole his heart.

this car was bought new in 1967 by my grandfather. he is still on the v5 log book and it has been in his name since day 1. he cherished this car and he and i are the only people ever to drive it.

in 1987 he parked it up in the garage at his house and didnt drive it again. some years later he passed away and left the car ad all his possesions to me. the house. he car and all the land.

2 years ago i took the car out of the garage for the first time since 87. and took it to a reputable classic car garage for recommsioning. after 10 months and many new parts it ran and drove.

it had new ignition parts. points. coil. leads. plugs. water pump. belts. thermostat. lots of brake components. il and filter. ew gaskets. nbsp;brake lines. 4 new tyres. powder coated wheels. exhaust which was specially made and sounds awesome. new sills inner and outer. outriggers. lights. lenses. rubbers. bearings. cables etc etc and a million other things i cannot remember. all in all i got a bill for nearly 8 grand.

then i decided that the paint was dull and needed re doing so they started it. but got carried away. i had the underside stripped to bare metal to make sure there was no rust anywhere and then anti rust treated and finally painted black with hard wearing black paint. not sticky horrid underseal.

now im not saying the car is restored or perfect but it is a nice useable car with no rot and a nice interior . the carpets and seats look new still. #

i took it for a 5 mile drive today in the sun. it roared up the country lanes. you can hear the win carbs sucking and the exhaust barking. it really saddens me to sell her but i simply have no choice.

I took some pictures on the ramp in the garage last year so you can see how well the underside looks before and after paint. and i took some more pics in the grounds of the house . hopefully they are a true representation of how lovely it really is.

this model is a GT. ehich means it has a lift off hard top. and 4 seats. i also have th tonneau cover which is still in great condition.

anyone is welcome to come and have a look etc but please be serious before i invite you to my home. it is stored in a warm garage so if its raining you can stil lcome and view. but please dont ask to drive the car as it has only been driven by him and me. so you can drive it when it is yours. saying this im happy to take any serous buyer up the road in her as long as it is dry and warm.

like i have already said. and will reiterate. dont come if you expect a perfect restored car. this is one to be loved and used. not a trailer queen to win prizes at a show and never be driven. although i cant say i have seen one in better unrestored condition.

please call me anytime on 07792 072557 or in my office on 01788 878414 9am till 5pm.

please remember this is a 38000 mile car. and has only had one owner from new. a very special man who i miss with all my heart. it will take a special person to buy hs car. good luckl
