1947 OLDSMOBILE "COUNTRY CLUB" COUPE RESTORED

PERHAPS. THE ONLY ONE KNOWN IN EXISTENCE TODAY. THIS BODY ON RESTORATION OF AN 85000 MILE FROM NEW WOODY SPECIAL. IS UNIQUE IN EVERY WAY. THE COUNTRY CLUB ACCESSORY WAS AVAILABLE IN 1946 1947 AND 1948 ONLY. AND IT WAS INSTALLED BY CHEVROLET DEALERS. IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE. IT WAS ALTERED TO FIT THIS OLDSMOBILE. THAT SHARED THE SAME BODY STYLE AS THE CHEVROLET. IT IS VERY UNLIKELY THAT THERE IS AN OTHER THE SAME ANYWHERE. IT EVEN HAS A “COUNTRY CLUB” I. D. PLAQUE ATTACHED TO THE FIREWALL.

MOST OF THE CHROME WAS RE-PLATED. THE RED FABRIC INTERIOR. INCLUDING HEADLINER AND CARPET WAS RESTORED WITH THE ORIGINAL TYPE MATERIAL. AND THE ENTIRE TRUNK WAS REDONE AS WELL. THE CAR WAS REPAINTED EBONY BLACK FROM THE ORIGINAL GREY. ALL RUBBER GASKETS. DOORS. HOOD. TRUNK ETC. WERE REPLACED WITH NEW.

MECHANICALLY. IT IS A GO ANYWHERE CAR. THE MOTOR HAS LESS THAN 100 MILES SINCE REBUILD. THE HYDRAMATIC TRANSMISSION WORKS PERFECTLY. AND THE WIDE WHITE WALL TIRES ARE IN AS NEW CONDITION. EVERY GAUGE WORKS. AS WELL AS. THE ORIGINAL RADIO. AND CLOCK. ALL GLASS IS INTACT. WITH NO HAZE SHOWING. THERE ARE SOME VERY MINOR CHIPS IN THE WINDSHIELD. THE GLASS IS THE ORIGINAL DURALITE SHOWING THE FACTORY MARKINGS ON EACH PIECE.
