1959 MERCEDES BENZ 220s

BEEN IN THE ONE FAMILY SINCE THE 70'S. WAS A DAILY DRIVER CAR FOR MANY YEARS.


I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THE OWNERS WHO HAD IT IN THE SHED SINCE IT RAN OUT OF REGO IN 1990. (ORIGINAL REGO PLATES IN CAR).


FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE. GEARBOX. BRAKES & SUSPENSION BUSHES WERE ALL REPLACED OR REBUILT ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO.


THE MOTOR STARTS UP EASY AND RUNS VERY GOOD. I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR A QUICK DRIVE UP THE ROAD AND DRIVES OK FOR A CAR THAT HAS SAT FOR SO LONG. GEARBOX CHANGES GOOD. BRAKES SEEM OK. NEEDS EXHAUST.


INTERIOR LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN RETRIMMED AT SOME STAGE YEARS AGO AND IS IN GOOD CONDITION. DRIVERS SEAT STITCHING HAS COME APART IN COUPLE SPOTS. DOOR TRIMS. CARPET & HOODLINNING ARE ALL GOOD.


BODY LOOKS OK FOR RUST. FLOORS ARE GOOD. HAS GOT A FEW BUBBLES IN LOWER DOORS MOSTLY LEFT REAR. GUARDS. QUARTERS AND SILLS LOOK OK. CAR HAS BEEN REPAINTED IN THE 80'S AND HAD A VINYL ROOF FITTED WHICH HAS NOW GONE. AND HAS CAUSED THE ROOF PAINT TO CRACK AS IN PICTURE.


I ONLY BOUGHT THE CAR 5 MONTHS AGO FOR MY FATHER AND WAS GOING TO FIX IT BUT NEVER HAD THE TIME TO START IT.

WE (MY FATHER AND I) ARE SAD TO SEE IT GO. ITS TRULY A REMARKABLE LOOKING CAR AND REALLY GETS PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IT.


I CAN HELP WITH INTERSTATE SHIPPING IF REQUIRED.


I AM SELLING IT WITH NO REGO NO WARRANTY AS IS WHERE IS AND NO RESERVE.  


THIS CAR WILL ONLY GO UP IN VALUE OVER TIME.
