MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this statuesque and rarely seen short bumper 1973 450SL with only 35. 92 documented miles on the clock. This three owner European classic is one of the most iconic sports cars in history. with very little design changes throughout it's history. One of a select few cars that has retained essential design and engineering philosophy while setting new standards of performance and esthetics in the process. This example has been lovingly cared for by the same family for 33 years!

The Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster (formerly known as the SL Roadster) is a grand touring roadster manufactured by Mercedes since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Sportlich-Leicht. (Sport Lightweight) and was first applied to the 300SL . The SL variant was a 2-seat convertible/roadster(R107) with standard soft top and optional hardtop and optional folding seats for the rear bench.

Finished in a rarely seen brilliant Byzantine Gold Metallic (422). this coupe shows extremely well with only minor fading visible upon close inspection. All the trim is present. complete and displays slight normal wear. The short front and rear bumper's (including over-riders) fit is extremely tight and finish is very good with minor scratches. The front driving lights are bumper mounted. free of chips and cracks and operate as designed. The hardtop has a nice fit and matching exterior finish. The Dark Tobacco soft top has the same excellent fit with the rear window showing little or no scratches or hazing. The weather-stripping is pliable. with only a few signs of drying. tearing or shrinkage. The original 14-inch wheels represent well with only slight signs of marring.

Inside. the rich Saddle Tan MB-Tex front bucket seats appear normal with only slight wear spots on the driver's seat outside bolster visible. The matching saddle door panels. carpet and black dashboard are an excellent contrast to the striking gold exterior of the car and look fantastic. All gauges are ergonomically placed. have correct appearance and function as originally designed. The originally equipped leather steering wheel is in excellent condition and functions as designed. The heater. power windows and JVC stereo upgrade function as designed. Included is a file of service records from 1982 to the present documenting complete service log and actual miles. The original (protec-to plate) metal owner tag is with the car. plus both hard top removal tools as well as the original build card and the original owner's manual and books.

This nicely represented Mercedes features a SOHC 4. 5 liter eight-cylinder engine. Bosch Jetronic injection. 4-speed automatic transmission. power assisted four-wheel disc brakes. four-wheel independent suspension. The wheels are chrome 14 inch original Mercedes rims with radial tires.

The SL “R107” is easily one of the most recognizable and desirable Mercedes ever produced. Touring the way it's suppose to be…This 450 SL has a luxurious exterior with the heart of German motorsports. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

Payment Terms

Payment must be made by Cashiers Check. Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500. 00 must be received within Twenty-Four (24) hours of the auctions close either by Master Card. Visa. Discover or PayPal (Credit Cards or PayPal for deposit only NOT for full payment). Purchaser cannot make any claims of ownership to said vehicle without payment in full. The buyer has seven (7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If an inspection or decision takes longer than seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking. your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. Documentation Fee: There will be a $195. 00 fee added to each car sold. This includes title transfer. inventory tax. holding costs. vehicle preparation. storage and priority documentation delivery.

We will not be responsible for buyer's remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left our property. We are just being realistic; most of the cars we deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and your expectation should not be of a perfect. new car. Once full payment has been received. Seller will email or fax a copy of clear title. Bill of Sale. Buyers Guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via email or fax. The fully-executed forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer via USPS Priority Mail within ten (10) days from date of final payment.

We must be notified in writing of your decision to return the vehicle within seven (7) days of your receipt of said vehicle. The vehicle may not have more than 75 additional miles on the odometer from the time it left our possession and be returned in the same condition that it left. You WILL be responsible for a restocking fee that will equal 20% of the purchase price of the vehicle. no exceptions. You will also be responsible for shipping the vehicle back to our shop at your expense.
