1957 Cadillac Coupe Deville Unrestored Running Complete EX California Nevada

Up for sale is my 1957 Cadillac Coupe deVille. I imported this car myself 3 years ago and have had it registered in Queensland since. Although it is driving it was my intention to restore it eventually. Now. with a lack of space and a new baby I am facing the reality that it probably won't be happening any time soon. therefore I have made the decision to let this classic go.

This car came from Nevada originally. It carries service tags to help prove this. My Californian friend bought it many years ago and drove around the Hollywood area for years. Among other stories this car has. Johnny Depp once pulled up beside it at a set of lights (in his Caddy) and commented on it. But anyway. back to the point. Great history I will share with the winning bidder/serious bidders.

This car presents. runs. drives and stops fairly well. I have kept the basic maintenance up. fluids etc. It has some rust as shown and was resprayed sometime in the Eighties in the States The factory colour is a metallic blue. I'm not sure how close the current colour is to the factory blue. It was reupholstered about the same time. I believe. The car is solid. no horrible rust problems. just as seen in the photos. floors. boot. sills all seem original and good. It has a dent in the rear quarter that wouldn't be difficult to repair. New tyres. Mechanically. I know it would need rear suspension bushes and some brake attention (to deal with a slow fluid leak). It also needs the starter solenoid replaced (a new is supplied).

It has some great options that still work. Electric windows. Autronic eye (automatically dips high beam when approaching oncoming traffic). power steering and 6 way power seat (not all 6 work. )

This car could be tidied up (cosmetically and mechanically) and driven. To me. I think this car would be an excellent restoration proposition. It hasn't been badly messed with over the years and has only minor rust issues. It hasn't had a quick paint job to help sell it. It has nothing to hide. What you see is what it is. It is complete. It has the necessary Australian import approval papers and the LO2 approval from QLD transport.

Keep in mind I have photographed the car to highlight the worst parts. so you know what you're bidding on.

I feel sad as I write this. I will miss it. I won't take silly offers. If it doesn't sell. I will store it and restore it 'one day' myself.

I have just started holidays which means you can inspect the Caddy just about anytime you like. Serious bidders only.

Qld plates LOS57 (Spanish/Mexican translates to 'The 57') are not included as part of this auction as I may get another 1957 vehicle one day. Make an offer. though. if you would like them. The car is currently fully registered but will be sold unregistered without a roadworthy certificate.

The Cadillac is located 8 km north of Brisbane GPO.

Finally. I once sold another classic car on ebay years ago and swore I would never do it again. I met some interesting people. However. I never got to meet the winning bidder because he somehow stopped existing after the auction ended. So. This is the deal. You are bidding to buy! Bidding to buy. not inspect or anything else.
