Mercedes W114 Coupe 280ce / 280se convertible pillarless NO RESERVE classic

Welcome to the auction of my 1974 Mercedes W114 Coupe This is the desirable 280ce with the twin cam fuel injected engine. The engine runs perfectly and has no tappet or other bad noises. The oil pressure at normal running temperature is very good. There is no smoke from the engine. The car drives extremely well also. The automatic 4 speed gearbox is very smooth and there are not any unwelcome noises or clunks form the ride at all. I was amazed at how well this car rides. I have a classic ford and have had a few other classic fords in the past and this Mercedes of the same era drives and rides much better. It really is a quality car and even after all this time rides better than most modern cars. Its so comfortable and smooth. and easily keeps up with modern traffic. The brakes are good and do not pull to either side when braking and the suspension is quiet and shows no signs of any leaks. The body work of the car is in very good condition. There is a very small amount of rust on the car (not much at all). the worst being a small area around one of the front headlights. Its just blistering though (no holes etc) Paint work is very good and the chrome is excellent. The moon roof is a very nice feature especially with weather like we have been having. Its manual and is easy to operate from the drivers seat and does not leak at all. There are not any nicks or tears in it either. This is the coupe pillarless model which is very rare and looks very good with the windows down.  The interior is in excellent condition with no marks or rips on the seats at all. All wood trim is in great condition. All the glass is the original factory glass. Everything works on this Mercedes. all the gauges and back lights etc. even the early form of central locking works which locks both front doors. the boot and even the petrol filler flap. I can not verify the mileage of 33. 00 as I only have the past 5 or so MOTs. the latest style VOSA MOTs show the mileage history and verifies the 33. 00!? The underside of the car is very solid and requires no welding. The engine does not leak any oil. To sum up. this is a great luxury car that is very rare. Its a pleasure to drive. Viewings are welcome but not to test drive unless you have proof of insurance for this car and you bring the cash to prove you are serious about buying.
